So you say you can use one without getting ashes in your mouth huh? I have one, but I used it once and didn't like it at all. I was a real noob and got it from a friend. Maybe I'll find some bud and dig 'er out.

I liked mine right from the start. One reason was because it never got as hot(the smoke) as a joint near the end would. I never get ash in my mouth now. Actually, I've only gotten ash in my mouth a few times and it's not even a big deal.

I've been smoking one hitters ever since I started smoking a dozen years ago. I used to use the dugout boxes, but i've lost a couple, now i just use a film container. If you're strapped for cash, just spend like $5 for the little cigarette bat (one hitter) by itself and use any small sealable cocntainer to hold your green.

Great tutorial on an underappreciated tool. + rep to you, my friend.

I don't know but if you get one that doesn't have sharp edges, you can get one from your local head shop for a few bucks. Actually, you can probably get a dugout from your local head shop anyway. [Sorry, GC]

Otherwise, I'd throw an email to GC and see if they can help you find something you might like.

when hitting a one hitter, use the metal on the lighter to reflect the orange glow of the burning weed. this ensures that everything is lit and also lets u see when it goes out.

edit:: i just found my dugout hanging out in some of my drawers. to my suprise, there was .35g's left in there! time for some bong rips

I am gonna get one as soon as I can! I already have a one-hitter I made from a dropper but it holds like enough for two large hits and a small one to finish it off. How many hits does it normally take you from the one hitter to get high? I have always used it when I smoked like 30 minutes ago and just to renew my high a bit!

This is indeed a good tip. I do it all the time and probably should have included it in the tutorial. The metal edge of your lighter is perfect for checking out the bowl to make sure it burning. Sometimes you won't taste or feel the smoke because it's relatively cool but if you're looking at the reflection in your lighter you can see how you're doing. Thanks for bringing that up.

Ha! I do that. It helps a ton. I always light it one extra time and hold the lighter there to make sure.

Oh, and since my last post in this thread I have fallen absolutely in love with my dugout. Yay dugout!

Right now since im staining my dugout, im using a pill bottle for my stash and using my one hitter in that. It works awesome the pill bottles are perfect and they sell them at rite aids and cvs and places like that for a dollar.

a year or 2 ago i was at a new years eve party around the fire with a few friends... one of my friends husbands came up and was smoking his bad, he let me see it and hit it and ive been in love with these things since then... 5 minutes and we were both high from that little thing :P

ive went and bought a mini one from my head shop, couldnt be more than 3.5 inches tall, came with a 2.5 inch cig bat... and it comes everywere i go... i can smoke inbetween classes!
