I was getting pissed that i kept sucking the ash through and it either getting stuck in the downstem or just floating around in the bong.

So i went outside and found some small pebbles and found the one that fit best the bottom of the bowl and i haven't had a single ash in my bong since.

why that might just be crazy enough to work. cheaper than a glass gauze i suppose

yea, jsut be carefull soem rocks that have alot of moister will explode from heat

around here its customary to suck the ashes down. we call it snapping the bowl. once its cashed ya just keep sucking till it all goes in. that last hit is always a killer one to since u get all the resin in ur downstem

Yeah, I all ways suck the ash down in the water to. It's a force if habit. I just cleaned my bong today, I love it. I'm gonna have to clean it more often

it's a good hit too. that's why i posted.

i can clear every bit of weed in the bowl and not suck any of it down.

i used to get a lot of ground up bud in my bong water too from it cashing early, so this really helps on that.

usually when i smoke a glass bowl and i know its gonna pull through and suck right into my mouth, i put my shirt or a bandana over my mouth and hit it so that the ash doesnt go in my mouth. but i dont really care if the bowl is done on a bong and it goes into the water, cause i can just dump it out and put more water in.

but getting ash in your bong sucks. because them some of it sticks to the sides when you empty it and just dirtys up the bong quicker.

i've also been able to hit the bong hard the entire hit so i get great milks with no ashes being sucked down.
