Dont lick it as much before you put the paper in the rolling machine, just lick it little and when its done rolling take it out and lick it to seal it cause sometimes they roll so tight if you lick it to much that you cant even take hits off of it..

I can roll ok, but it takes me a while and I often get frustrating and lose a little bit of weed.

I have a roller, because I buy cans of tobacco and roll my own cigarettes, and it works great for that, but I have found that rollin joints by hand is far better because alot of times the roller will pack the J TOO tight, and you can't get a good hit from it. The roller is pretty good at rolling spliffs though
