New cleaning method confirmed!
Do you have a glass bowl or bong that is way too resinated for your liking? Don't want to boil the resin out of your bowl? No problem! You might not even have to leave the house to get the necessary agents for cleaning. For bong cleansing, since it doesn't get nearly as resinated as the bowl itself, you should use rubbing alcohol and rock salt, you don't need much either, a half handful of rocksalt and 1 or2 glugs of alcohol should do it. With this mixture in the bong, put your thumb over the downstem and shake vigorously for up to 3 minutes or until clean. This gets my devices spotless. Now, for the bowl. Here is the new, non-poking, non-boiling cleaning method. Simply remove the grommet from the bowl, place the bowl in a plastic baggy and put a 1/4 cup of 50/50 mixture water and dishwasher detergent. Not dishsoap like dawn. I'm talking Cascade or whatever you put in your dishwasher. My application i used cascade gel. I am assuming the crystal form will work as well. I put this bag inside another bag to avoid any messy spills. Then i let it soak. Every once in a while turn the bowl upside down and rightside up running the solvent through the bowl many times. I left min in the bag for 2 days. When removed, I ran water through the bowl. This emitted much of the residue. However, inside the dome of the bowl was still a big chunk of resin. it wasn't stuck to the bowl but it was too big to fall through the hole. I dropped 10-12 little rock salt pebbles inside and a little bit of rubbing alcohol. I shook this vigorously for about 30 seconds and it totally broke up the remaining chunk. I rinsed the bowl and now it looks brand new. This method will also work for glass pipes, sherlocks, bubblers, side cars, and pretty much anything the has resin on it. Here is a picture of my bowl after being cleaned with this method. Good luck, also if anyone try's this with detergent crystals, please post your results here. Thanks!
