ive got a lot of problems but i dont give a fuck?

how do you make yourself start caring?

ive got no money, cant seem to find a job, cant buy a car to drive me back and forth to work when i do get a job, im in college, and before this semester i had Hope Scholarship but now the only course im passing is my art class, got a shit ton of school work to make up but havent done any of it, cant seem to make friends where im living now, cant find a good guy to depend on, rooms a mess, heads a mess, it all just seems like a mess...

....how do i make myself get shit straight?! ive just been feeling like a total screw up lately and really down about it all when i start thinking about it so ive just been NOT thinking about it. damn, to top it all off now i feel like a whiny brat.

nah my parents dont pay for anything, never have....ive been using money ive been saving since i got a job when i was 16 but then i moved out over the summer and all that moneys gone, now all i have is enough to pay for my rent through December and thats all i got until i get my student loan shit in mid January or hopefully get hired.

Money is only important for survival, and if you're in school and failing the last thing you need is a distraction in the form of a job (unless its just a must for you). So, now examine school. Do you know why you're going? If you don't, that could be part of your problem.

Ultimately, you need to come to grasp with what you're doing with your life and what you want from it, and then you'll naturally prioritize things and start motivating yourself to get things done. Maybe your big picture is out of focus.

Some things are obviously less important than others. Focus on what's most important (your development into your future self, school, transportation, etc.) and try not to despair over the small things (rooms a mess? not that important).

All of this feels so obvious I feel condescending for saying it, but maybe it needs to be said.

edit: Oh yeah, and it's obvious you give at least a very limited number of fucks, since we have this thread here and all.

Hmmm... sounds a lot like I feel. At a certain point everything is so fucked you just kinda shut down. If I figure it out I'll be sure to post.

Same exact thing happened to me, I had a full scholarship but then I started falling behind with my coursework and shit and eventually... I just dropped out. IMO you're feeling like this because you're not ready for college yet (neither was I).

It's just like that gay ass poster says "If you're aiming for nowhere, that's just where you'll go". You need to get a GOAL and then work towards that goal, like a real goal, the thing/things you want to accomplish in LIFE not just tomorrow or next year etc etc.

Just move back in with your parents, and don't worry about not having a job, or not being in college, or not having a car. Just release the stress and focus on finding your true calling. That's what I'm doing and I just landed an awesome construction job a couple weeks ago and it's great so far.

Anyway, that's my 2 cents haha, Good luck

i made a budget that would have me enough money to live on just in case i couldn't get a job, but shit happens ya know, first time living on my own i didnt realize how expensive everything is...got sick and had to buy the meds, had to buy shit to fix my bike with..before i knew it my bank account was dry.

Yeah, this makes sense. I really don't know what it is I am wanting to do with my life, I've switched majors like 4 times already. I definitely feel like I shouldve waited to start college. Thanks man, good advice. I think I might move back in with the rents after next semester and just see what happens.

Yes, move back in with your rents. It will make your future much easier, as you wont be paying rent (with money you don't have) and you wont be wasting time studying for classes you're not even sure you want to take or not.

So move in, find a job, save some money, figure out what it is that you want; and then go for it.

well, shits different with everybody, but i can give you my personal experience.

I went through the exact same thing for over 2 years, and not until 2 weeks ago did it start changing.

I just didn't give a fuck about anything, and even the big problems i had that i knew i'd eventually have to face, i just didn't care about. I changed my major about 4 times, each time taking money/degree and my parents into consideration. Well i just changed my major to music composition, aka B.A in Starving Artist, but i've already noticed a difference in my attitude in general. My train of thought has just been a lot different. I never care about making money or anything like that, but after switching my major to music, i feel like i actually have something to work for now. I know its a nearly useless degree, but now i just have more motivation to try and be successful by pushing myself in doing what i love

[edit] its my third year, and i decided to take a leave of absence this semester (halfway through) after i realized i was just too confused and had to figure out what i wanted to do with my life. It was the best decision i ever made, and it really helped me make the decision that is making me very happy.
