Pipe out the window :(

A week ago driving on the 101 late at night, me and my boyfriend had just smoked a bowl out of my piece when....

a cop drives past us, and as soon as we pass him he turns on his lights and flips a bitch, while at the sametime turing on his lights, putting himself behind us.

I started freaking out telling him we were going to get pulled over, so he throws my pipe (which he got me as a bday present) right out the window, like without hesitation.

I was completely in shock, and turns out the cop wasn't even following us.

FML right?

I'm confused, so I just want to get this straight:

You *passed* a cop while driving on the highway? Isn't that asking for a speeding ticket?

It just seems like, if you're high and trying to avoid police attention, the last thing you want to do is drive faster than a cop on the highway (assuming he's not obviously doing 45mph or something silly like that).

Maybe I misunderstood?

About the pipe though, that hardcore sucks. The cop would need a reason to search your car, and even if he threatens to "get the drug dogs" they almost never show up, meaning you get off "with a warning". In all likelihood could have kept the pipe even if the cop WAS after you guys.

Don't go too hard on him though, speaking from experience, I would do almost ANYTHING to prevent my gf from getting into trouble with the law...

I guess i forgot information, i was going around 55 with was the speedlimit

and he crept by going slow, and as he flipped his bitch he turned his lights on as well.

But hey, in the right situation that could have saved you a hefty ticket...

dude ive done something like that before exept i had smoked that much i threw my weed out the window and it turns out they werent after us lol Life sucks sometimes

Haha I wonder how much weed/paraphanalia has been ditched for no reason by paranoid stoners hahaha. I'm guessing probably a lot, I've actually found weed in an empty parking lot before lol.

So he turned around on the highway headed the opposite direction and turned on his lights, so you thought he was pulling you over?

Why wouldn't he just slow down and let you pass him.

I believe the cop was traveling in the opposite direction in the first place, after they passed each other, the cop u-turns, then is traveling in the same direction as the op

lol that sentence is so contradictory. first a cop drives past them, then they pass the cop. Then he:
1. Turns on his lights
2."flips a bitch"
3. Turns on his lights.
4. He is already behind them...

Wow its not that hard to understand,

Op's car is going down one side of the highway and the cop is on the other going the opposite way, OP goes by the cop and they cop does a U turn so he is on the same side of the highway as the OP and he turns on his light.

So it seemed like he did a U turn to catch them speeding on the opposite side of the highway but I guess he was going after someone else?

Sorry for your loss but I mean your friend was just tryin to play it safe, id ask for like half the moneys worth of the piece though since he did toss it. But then again he did already buy it for you so dunno.
