Just diagnosed with swine flu....

so long story short ive been sick for two days. i had a 103.3 fever all day and I just went to the doctor. Ive been smoking non stop and have felt good. i went to the doctor blazed and so they checked my symptoms and shit and said i have swine. they said it will go away and they gave me some medicine that starts with a t. the lady knew i was high and said i need to stop smoking to feel better. i have been smoke free for 5 hours and i have felt like shit. i feel terrible and im looking at a half ounce of some dank sitting on my desk. i want to smoke so bad. should i? it is the only medicine that makes me feel better. ive been taking dayquil and motrin allll dayy. sooo grasscity, what should I do?

by the way, swine flu isnt as bad as people say. just like the regular flu. doctor said it will go away within a couple days.

Depends, I guess.
I could see how smoking might prolong your sickness and maybe make the flu last longer.
But it definitely always makes me feel better when I'm sick, and they say it's an expectorant so it might help clear your lungs of excess lung-butter.

i know 4 people who all got swine. not me yet *knocks on wood*... it's no big deal if you have a healthy immune system.

get some rest and you'll feel better soon

its only really dangerous if your young, elderly, pregnant or if you're immune system compromised.

Another thing I hear is that when it progresses it can shut down your respiratory system, or just in general makes it hard to breathe making it necessary for a ventilator...theirs only so many in one hospital you know.

I'm being up dated on all this since Im under going chemo therapy soon.

Yea that's correct. I've seen patients come with with high fever and shortness of breath only to take their chest x-ray and say "damn another one". I get the ER docs attention and show them the xray.

In goes the propofol for a nice long nap along with a ET tube down throat.

Like you said though, if you're within the 18-40 group and are healthy, just stay home, drink 1/2 gallon of water a day, a ton of Vit A & C and you'll be fine within a week

I've got no health insurance and if it wasnt swine flu that I had for like 3 weeks about a month ago, Idk what it was. But yea man I stopped smoking for a bit and I felt like shiiiit. Kept smoking, kept my fluids up, took my vitamins and a bit of regular amoxicillin my mom gave me and It was bearable. Again Idk if it was swine flu, could've just been the worst regular flu I've ever had idk.

Don't smoke man, I know it sucks but swine flu or any flu is a lung infection and smoke just prolongs recovery and being sick for a long time taxes your immune system further. Just think about how sweet it will be to burn after you get better tho!

There was another post on here about how marijuana could help the symptoms of swine flu, and how it did - It's good and a. o. k. to smoke or to toke, so live it up. Hell marijuana was "aspirin" before "aspirin" was invented, remember that.

That's horrible advice, you just told him to not smoke, but think about how high you'll be if you do smoke.
