earlier tonite, i was walking to a frinds house with a backpack of shaving cream and toilet paper (i also had a bong in there) when i was about a block away, i saw a cop car coming tword me so i just kept walking calmly when he was nex to me, he stops and says "what do you have on you" I said some shaving cream and toilet paper he goes if theres anything else im gonna be real pissed so i showed him the bong he aske what i was gonna do with it and i said ill choose not to answer that and im gonna exercise my right to remein silent and this point he said "ooo you know your rights, who are you? fucking johnny cockrin?" I just looked at him. he kept going on saying stuff like "your a real fucking smartass arent you?" and "youve gotta be fucking shitting me". He patted me down and found my pipe and about half a gram of pot- half a fucking gram. after he found it, he got real pissy like he was feeling around in my shoe and yelled at me when i asked if he wanted me to just take it off. I chose to use my rights and eventually was handcuffed, put in the back of a ccar and taked to the station where my parents were called and i was released to them(dont know why they called my parents, they had my shit and im 18. I guess its because i was being a "fucking smartass"

Yeah thats horrible, you shoulda just said you had some clothes to sleep at a friends or something. My friend has been asked by a cop what was in his bag before and he had a shirt on top of some alcohol and the cop let him go once he saw the shirt.

So maybe next time just throw a shirt or two ontop of the shit.

If he just kept walking and not talked to the cop im sure the cop woulda stopped him on some bullshit like suspicion or some shit since he didnt talk back when questioned.

As for running, who the fuck does that shit ? I know its pretty smart and easily done in some situations but others its not. You dont just start running from a cop over nothing. Its dumb just play it out and be manipulative. Just my advice ...

You have to weigh the risks worth the possible benefits... IMO running is not worth the risk... sure you might get away... but what if you don’t? Now the cop knows you have something to hide, so you're going to jail until they find out what that is... and you should hope a few pipes and a small amount of bud is all they find... Obviously there isn't anything you can do about what has already happened to you, but I have found in my personal experience that when you are prepared for something to happen... it doesn't... so I try to prepare for anything... I would say sit down and come up with ways you would do it differently, and decide how you will handle it should it or something similar, happen to you again. And get a lawyer.. not a court appointed one... it's worth the money. Just my opinion.

Yeah thats a bummer that it happened like that, but you should have said "oh just some stuff" very nicely, and then if he asked to search your bag you should say "well I gotta go so no thanks, why?" and if he just ends up taking your bag and searching, then it's illegal I believe. But if you consent to it your completley fucked in court, sorry about that.

yea.. ive been thinking it over and theres a thousand little things i could have done to not get caught
i almost diddnt bring my bong- would have been fine if it werent for that, shouldve waited 5 minutes for my friends, shouldve just smoked it all before i left, shouldve gone to a different town with different people i was invited by, shouldve met the other peolple in the original spot, ect..

in canada when they arrest you their allowed to search you but they can only take out solid objects like a pipe or keys. but their not allowed to take weed out of your pockets even if they feel it.

one of my friends was dirt bikeing in some trails (few hundred acres of private property going to be developed) and while near the highway a cop stopped and told him to walk his bike home, told the cop to fuck himself and ripped off into the bush. Thought he was in the free and clear but o no, cop was pissed and called it resitsing arrest. half hour later 5 pickups show up with 10 quads (grizzly 660's, waste of our fucking taxes) and they rip off in every direction to sweep the area. Find my friend and he stops. 2 cops jump off their quads and tackle him to the ground while he was on his bike.
A simple demand that he get off private property turned into a posession charge and resisting arrest. The only times i run is if i'm paranoid and a cop drives by at night, and thats just so i can avoid him noticeing me wandering the streets at night.
