People are often too quick to jump to being as unhelpful to the police as possible. Yes, you have the right not to talk to the cops but it is almost always in your best interest to be cooperative, unless cooperation would easily lead to you being arrested. If the OP refused to talk to the cop, he probably would have ended up making a "fuck, I got attested last night" thread instead. The goal is too stay out of trouble and pissing off a cop is not a good way to reach this goal.

this... the only time i do not coperate with police is when they ask my consent to do soemthing then i say sorry officer (name) i do not consent to a search of my vehicle... i will act and cooperate as much as neccesary till they suspect nothing is up and we can just get on our way.

They probably won't get a warrent. If he wanted anything to happen he would of done it right there.

P.S.
Just in case a cop ever does that and asks to search you or the car...
the second you say no, he knows your guilty and even though you say no, he can get a dog to sniff you down.
