I agree, the Khyber Valley pass is no joke, it is all outlaws and drug smugglers, if not with a good guide you can easily end up buried there. Same with Bangkok, if you wander off the main tourists streets and the market places, you are pretty much on your own and they are poor and ruthless, human lives are nothing to them, same with parts of Laos and Cambodia. Columbia has it's places, it is common practice in Medilline for drug lords to do executions right in the streets, of course this was back in the 80's.

I find that list to be a joke. Reason; Detroit is ranked #1 and Flint #3 in the top most dangerous cities, yet only one section of Detroit is listed. I just find that odd.

If you have never visited a 3rd world nation or a country with a very poor economy, you have not seen anything. In parts of Thailand where they produce Chine White, if not with the right guides you can die without even a thought, same with Afghanistan.

I used to drive a truck for a living and truck stops are either in the middle of nowhere (the big nice ones usually are) or in the worst part of a city. South Memphis, Little Rock, Jessup Maryland, Detroit, South Atlanta, D.C., and all the shithole Mexican border towns. East St. Louis was the worst with Memphis (the area around Graceland and the airport) a close second. South ATL particularly Bouldercrest Dr. and MLK is a fucking nightmare.

Shit, I don't know what it's called other than "the south side" from where I'm from, but an old friend of mine back in high school had us smoking in a ditch in view of a house party, that last week (in the ditch) someone got shot and killed. The people at the house party were mad staring at us and shit, so we left like right away after he told us someone was killed in the damn ditch we were smoking in.

Crazy shit, but ah well. It ended well that night.
