Are you telling me... That this kid's family is likely to threaten yours and ruin you and your parents lives... Over smoking cannabis, which you DIDN'T force or pressure your friend to use, thus making it his own choice... And you're considering dropping your college education to join the military just to get away from them? I think you need to do whatever the fuck you want, and not listen to someone else. What do you mean they can make you disappear? Are they mafia? Props for being mature about it thus far, but don't fuck up your life because some family is trying to fucking ruin you over a choice their kid made ON HIS OWN. Some people, fuck. Good luck, OP. |

Also its not that my family is threatened by theirs its that "my future" would have been because of their influance. They would have prosecuted me (I dont know how theres no proof it was all hearsay) and black balled me in the business world through such an act. The thought of joining the military passed through my mind because I figured it would be the easiest way to cool the heat amoungst us all. See I already planned on Joining the Navy and taking the SEAL challenge so it wasnt a drastic decision for me. its like I said his parents looked up to me as the role model. They never (in their minds) thought i would try marijuana let alone contribute to the group. Yes its true my friends started way before i became involved. But the point in their minds is that I was supposed to be "the older brother who protected and guided him in the right direction and didnt." So in their eyes I failed them. In my eyes I dont believe I failed my friend because of weed but because I didnt keep him out of trouble and it was by my hand that he has ended up in the position he his. And it hurts to know I had any hand in my friends problems even if it wasnt directly my fault. Also i live in a small town of very close minded people. Good Country people but very closed out to new Ideals. *Although EVERY kid in my town smokes weed or has done/does some kind of drug.* The point is once your caught your branded a drug addict and your family is shamed for being involved with "Drugs". Which with rumors goes from weed to coke to acid to heroine and so on till your shunned. So its all being kept on the DL like nothing happened but still it sux and for now I believe its best not to do anything detrimental to me and those around me. So I quit till I leave. But thanks for your support Horse i appreciate it

I have been smoking everyday since the beginning of the summer and about 4 times a week before that. however, this week I haven't smoked once and for some reason I see my self stopping. I don't know why. Before like sunday I always wanted to smoke and then I got really really drunk sunday night and really fucked up and ever since i haven't wanted to smoke..
