my first salvia trip (a bad one)

i went downtown today and me and my friends picked up 1g of 20x salvia then we went to the woods in my backyard where we have a bit of a chill spot where we smoke and stuff.my friend went first and he packed about half his share into the small bowl of his bong he took his hit held it and had his trip. it went smoothly. then my other friend went, same thing, it all went well. then i went, i took my hit of the same amount as them and held it until things started feeling weird, then i let it out and relaxed. then after all i remember is that i felt like the trip was trying to take me and i saw it as a kind of like a hole trying to swallow me but i was stopping it because i was scared. i was half in and half out and i was freaking out. it really surprised me and scared me because i didnt know what was happening then i came off my peak and got up from my chair. after that i was very aggravated and confused. i felt like my friends were trying to understand what i went through but they couldnt and that aggravated me more. i was in a generally bad mood for the next 20 minutes and i was confused about my life. then we started walking to a local restaurant to get dinner while we were on our after glow. on the way there i couldnt stop thinking about it because i couldnt understand it because the salvia was still in my system. now i realise that i went through a bad trip. the only thing i am still confused about is what caused the bad trip. i believe it was because i was a bit afraid of doing salvia because i wasnt sure what to expect and because i knew the effects were going to be powerful. i have taken shrooms twice before so this is not my first experience with hallucinogens. i would like to know your opinions on what happened to me. what do you think caused this trip? should i try it again or will this bad trip reflect on future experiments with salvia? any opinion or explanation is appreciated, so please feel free to speak your mind. thank you in advance

I hate salvia. I had such a fucked up trip it look me like 8 fat hits to feel it probably because i was doing a lot of acid and mushrooms at the time anyways it was 40x and i like came out of my body and had to catch it then pick my world then shift my bones and teeth back into place it sucked i had a way better expirience with dmt its so much more amazing

the best way to smoke salvia is to smoke it and chill like weed, not like all eyez on u waiting for you to become a uncontrollable (laughwise) idiot.

^^^^ this is a very good guide. I advise you to experiment with salvia once more a little bit down the road. For most substances, it usually takes an experience or two before you find your groove. And above all, you have to be positive....allow yourself to be taken by the experience without trying to shape it. You have to also remember that the main psychoactive chemical in salvia is extremely strong and should not be taken lightly. Perhaps you should experiment with other psychedelics before smoking salvia again...or maybe a smaller dose of salvia will yield more positive effects.
