White lighters bring as much bad luck black cats or breaking mirrors. In other words, it's complete bullshit. One day, something bad happened to a superstitious person, probably with OCD. They probably noticed that the only thing they did different from their OCD routine was that they bought a white lighter, and thus, that being the only variation of their routine, they blamed said misfortune on it. They told someone, who perhaps casually mentioned to to some other people, and thus the bullshit factory gained a ton of new, gullible employees.

And yes, I am very baked.

I had never gone out of my way to carry one, however after I bought my glass bong I was entered into a raffle at the smoke shop (it was 4/20 weekend), I found out I had won one of the smokers goodie bags they were giving out and when I picked it up there was a small glass one hitter, some rolling papers, some incense, a lighter key chain, and an all white bic haha... I figured it was luck I got it, so I better hold on to it. However before hand I had an all black bic I carried so now I just carry both lol. I figured it would even itself out.
