Busted in Ontario, Questions

Hey everyone, I havent posted in a long time and no one probably knows me. Anyway I live in Ontario Canada and I met up with my buddy to give him a qp, and when we were sitting in the car some cops came up and we were arrested. On the spot there they asked us how much weed was in the car, my car, i said a few ounces and we gave him all the bags we had. We had a qp in a freezer bag, some juicyfruit in another bag and some purple kush in a third bag. They gave us possession of a controlled substance because we told them how we always pitch on large amounts so we can save money. We have a court date etc, the cops there said they'll see that we have clean records etc and should just get like a year of suspended sentence (or something like that) where we just have to be good for a year and we get no criminal record. The three of us are 18-19 and I am wondering if anyone has a similar experience so that I know what I need to do to get out of this alive. If my parents find out they'll go crazy and I probably won't be able to follow the post-secondary education that I want to.

Thats nothing but a slap on the wrist man. I dont even ythink it would hinder your chances for anything.


Just be glad you didnt get caught with that in the states, or youd be in jail right now.

You mean all we should get is a slap on the wrist? My friend said he talked to his friends dad who is a cop and his dad said 2-3 years probation + fine was most likely. I am hoping for suspended sentence or nothing, if my parents find out that I've been messing with drugs again they pretty much will kick me out of the house = no education because no money etc. or lots of debt, either way its a LOT easier if nothing that bad happens. I've looked up a bunch of things, can hardly find aaaanything, except some lawyers website that says a carload of guys was found with a large amount of weed (over 30g) and the result of the case was "Absolute discharge" which is basically "you're guilty but its not that big a deal so you wont get a criminal record"... does anyone have firsthand experience with this situation? that would be most

Also, you should look into a lawyer yo, alot of them give free consultations so atleast you'll know where you stand. Also as a marijuana user, you might be able to get someone from NORML or a free law service to take your case... look around

So i found some lawyers, have yet to call them but i have their numbers. Also looking at the site you said, i found the 'legal defense kit' but it says for 'simple possession' which im not sure but i think thats under 30 grams. On the slip that he gave me when i was arrested it says i was charged under schedule 4(1) which is simple possession. So did they lie and say we got a bigger charge than we did ? or did we get charged for what they said and its just somewhere under that part in the law?
anyone feel like researching? i havent had any luck.

I'm not sure if i can help you as much but i can tell you about the suspended sentence. My friend got a suspended sentence for theft under $5000. Basically if you dont fuck up and get arrested again after a year then the record is expunged (meaning you don't have to tick off that box that says you were charged with a crime when applying for jobs ect). Cops will still be able to see it though, so you might get hassled everytiime you get pulled over or have run ins with the police. I'm pretty sure they won't get you for trafficing as you didn't have any scales/dimebags in your car, aswell as they charged you with simple possesion.
