You did the right thing telling him he cant search, but I'm not sure why you gave up and told him where it was. Unless the shift boot was pulled up or looked off he wouldnt have checekd there..
Just my opinion, good luck pleading down though. I wish you the best and am glad you still made the most of the holiday.

I always stash everything deep, make sure nothing smells and allow searching. If you hide well, it also gives you more confidence in front of piggies.
If you consent to a search and look cool, they usually just take a quick peek and don't find anything. If you look nervous and don't consent, the dogs will be on their way almost 100%. |

If you roll your window down all the way, it's much easier for an officer to be able to argue that he smelled something that gave him reason to believe that drugs might be in the car. As for his promise to make the charge related to your license go away, I'm happy to hear it worked, but you should keep in mind that he could have charged you anyway. Police officers will do just about anything to get you to admit your guilt, and there are very few restrictions as far as what they're allowed to do to get you to do so. Never admit guilt in any way, shape, or form. As soon as you do so, you've waived any right you might have had to contest the search at a later date. Also, keep in mind that officers can do whatever they want as far as searching your vehicle is concerned as soon as you're placed under arrest. Good luck with the charges, man, and next time--Just eat it.
