bad skating accident, awful night

well this is prolly goin to be a long story but if you could read and maybe send some good vibes towards my friend it would be much appreciated

well friday night me and my buddy, and another friend were in the mood to bomb some hills. so it starts out like any other night when we dont really have much to do, we drive around in different spots lookin for some pretty gnarly hills to bomb, and a chill place to smoke. well around 11 at night we settle in, in this pretty nice neighborhood right by the beach, and we get to smokin. 2 blunts and some bongloads later we decide its time to hit the hills.

well my friend and friend2 start getting into a little argument about who could bomb hills the fastest ( nothing heated, jus a lil debate) and i decided to stay out of it. well we come to the top of this hill, its pretty big, but nothing out of the ordinary and both my buddies commence the trash talkin again and decide they are going to race down, and while theyre arguing, i decide to jus take off and meet them at the bottom.

i make it down the hill fine, i got some bad speed wobbles but i was able to recover and make it through, i ride pretty tight trucks. well i was chillin at the bottom and i see my other buddies comin down and friend1 has some gnarly speed wobbles from what i can see ( he rides alot looser than i do) and jus about at the end of the hill he looses control, does like a front flip kinda thing off his board and his head breaks his fall. i know some of you are going to blame this on him being high at the time but it seemed that it wouldve happened regardless, but ill admit it was definately not the smartest thing weve ever done. as soon as he hit the ground he went out cold, and proceeded to rag doll down the rest of the hill unconscious until a parked car stopped him.

when me and my other friend get to him hes layin unconscious face down in a pool of blood, we flip him over and he wakes up and doesnt know where the fuck hes at, so i get on the phone and call 911 opperator picks up i explain to her what happened and she asks for my location and i have no idea where the fuck im at, we were deep in some suburban neighborhood. i told here the street we were on and she said its goin to be a while before she could pinpoint my location based on the info i gave her, i grew very frustrated and told her im jus goin to take him to the hospital myself.

heres the kicker when he wakes up, hes like aye why are we by my moms house, something of which i had no idea. so we pick him up get a shirt on the gnarly gash on his head and start drivin and he was able to navigate me to his moms house. so we get there i bust down the door ( not really it was open) and i start yellin for his mom. turns out shes in her bedroom gettin down with her boyfriend, and i come to the door and she thought i was her other son who lives with her, my buddies brother, and thought it was a big joke. so i stood there for like twenty minutes yellin at her to get the fuck out of the room and help out, finally she comes out with her boyfriend whos is a fuckin prick. he tells us that there no need for the hospital, hes gives us some ice tells us to put it on his head and go home. at this point im so frustrated with him i tell him hes a fuckin moron and that my buddy needs to go to the hospital. so finnaly they become conviced after about another 20 minutes of pleading to take him to the hospital, they leave.

so im takin care of his little brother while they are at the hospital and his mom calls me a few hours later and gives me the low down. at the time she called he was on his 3rd cat scan and as of that moment had a severly fractured skull.

on saturday i got a call from the hospital and its my buddy, and i talked to him for a bit and told him exactly what happened because he still couldnt remember, and he tells me his room number and what not. so i go visit him today and its was like the worst condition ive seen anyone in let alone my best friend. but hes gettin released later today hopefully so ill be able to visit him at his pad.

but anyway if you guys could pray for him or send him some good vibes or anything that would be appreciated

That sucks, man. It sounds like he's recovering, but he's damn lucky it wasn't worse.

I'm sure he's hype about having someone like you around to take care of him, though. That shit would have been terrible if he'd been alone or with people who weren't willing to go to the trouble you did to make sure he was okay.

Count me in as far as sending good vibes his way.

Good luck to your buddy, good vibes come his way from me and you seemed to go through a lot of trouble to make sure he got to the hospital and shit. Lots of other people could have just given up when the mom's boyfriend said they didn't need the hospital and whatnot. Nice work..I bet your buddy's happy to have a friend like you. ur buddies actually kinda lucky to atleast have his life i mean i can see thats kinda a skater thing to do see who can go fastest i remember my bro grabbin on the back of cars thats great news hes out of the hospital i hope he gets to his full recovery and doesnt have any balance or sight like effects from fracturing his skull

little update

just talked to his dad and hes still pretty fucked, doesnt kno where hes at and doesnt remember too much, but his dads gonna have me over for dinner tommorow because he really hasnt heard the story or anything of what happened other than his son is fucked, so tommorow ill be seeing him, any ideas of what i could give him or bring him, my buddy that is, but at this point i dont kno if nething i do is goin to help out

Yea man hope he makes a full recovery, i longboard with my friend almost four times a week and when someone falls that shit is scary and stressful. I ride my board super loose as your friend did, and have been meaning to tighten them so im gonna go take care of that right now. I've never fallen and i sure as hell dont want to start now. Glad he made it out of the hospital though he got lucky, because at those speeds it could have been worse.

Damn that's fucked man, hopefully he heals up fast and regains his memories. I busted my head open in an atv accident, rough shit.

man thanks guys i plan on visitin him tommorow, i wouldve today but he was at his moms house, and ever since i expressed to his mom how i felt about how she handled the situation, i dont really wanna be around her. maybe it wasnt best to tell her whats up but i almost felt obligated to

ya i feel ya on the mom part and i know what i said i cant take back, and although i dont regret any of it, i cant help but feel it wasnt my place but at the same time she had to hear it, and one can only hope that she can step up to the plate and handle it better if god forbid anything like this happens again, of which i would never wish upon anyone
