Way to try to rant about random inequality when it comes to racism, we're not discussing the BET channel here. The point is it is offensive, my best black friend who is really laid back will get pissed off and offended if anyone uses that term, it isn't hard to cut it our of your vocabulary. people need to stop seeing things in color. people are people, we bleed the same blood, breath the same air, feel the same pain and have the same struggles.

in my opinion racism is another way for the government and those in power to keep us all divided. we as people have all the power in the world together and they know this, thats why they cant afford for us to be united.

That's the unfortunate double standard in today's world.

Chris Rock can spout white insults like crazy with no consequences (and don't get me wrong, I love his standups), but if ONE random white person says anything remotely racist against a black person, it'll end up on CNN. That's just the way it works, sadly enough.

Oh and BTW, this guy can't even keep his story straight (which sounded a little unbelievable to begin with), so I'm taking this thread with a grain of salt.

It's an unfair double standard yeah but be completely honest with yourself and think about it like this.... The double standard only exists because of things that took place in the past, one major all white organization that still exists today was and still is racist and I'm sure we all know what I'm talking about. So today when an all white organization pops up because of precedence people assume it to have racist tendencies. While that isn't fair the same rule of precedence works both ways, black people today are labeled and judged for what black people have done in the past. You say we'd have to be morons here on GC to alienate this guy but what if it was some racial/ethnic/religious slur directed towards you, its easy to say yeah its a joke I don't care but its totally different when its actually happening to you. The kid actually apologized right after he said it meaning he KNEW it was something he probably shouldn't say regardless of how funny it might have been. Simple rule if you have to apologize right after saying it just don't say it in the first place and avoid all this drama.
