My Monday Night

Okay I've been reading the forums for a while and not posting, but I decided that this would be a good/interesting read although it sucks for me.

To start, I will just give you a little background info about my friend (we'll call him Mike) and I. Mike and I have known each other for a good while but never really hung out alot. I went to a different scholl than him, and he got kicked out of two schools (one for fighting and one for drugs). Anyways lately, Mike and I have started hanging out alot. For about the past month, we would smoke together late at night then head off for some food.

This Monday night was unlike any other to begin with. I waited for my parents to get home from a party and pretended to be asleep then snuck out when they fell asleep. I met him in his driveway and we got in his car and prepared to smoke and listen to 311 as usual. Mike had recently bought a new slide for his bong, so we were gonna give it a try. This bowl was huge. It was probably a gram bowl. So, we both packed a bowl, each with some dank weed, and just boxed his car. We were extremely baked and prepared to head to Taco Bell/Burger King for some muchies as usual.

We got out his car and loaded up in mine. At this point in time, it's probably about 1:00 in the morning. I drive to Taco Bell and we both get our food and drive to the Burger King parking lot to eat. For some reason when I am about halfway thru my meal, I start to get really dizzy and really nauseous. This has never happened before when I smoked. I had no idea what was wrong, but I felt absolutely horrible. So while Mike is still chomping on his food, I lay my driver's seat back and just close my eyes for a few. Mike sees me feeling horrible and asks me if I want him to drive. Being in the state I was in, I graciously let him drive my car so I could lay down and try to get better. So, Mike gets in the driver's seat and drives through the BK drive-thru to get a Hershey's Pie. We have done this every night for about a month, seriously; so the lady basically knows us. Anyways, he gets his stuff and exits BK. At this time he is still eating his nacho's in his lap. I was completely unaware of this. So, he continues to exit Taco Bell and we have to go down this back street. I'll try to describe it- on one side of the small street there is a fence and on the other there is a brick wall (it's the back of the Rite Aid). As we are going down the street, Mike drops his nacho cheese on my feet. I feel it and I begin to sit up and he starts to lean over to pick it up. Just as I sit up, I look in front of us and there is a brick wall right in front of us. I just yell, "Mike!" And by the time he looks up, BAM we smash right into the wall. We were probably going between 15-20 MPH. We hit the wall with the front right of my car, right on the headlight. My first reaction is just "FUCK." Mike gets out to look at the car, and when I see his reaction I know it's bad.

So, I hop in the driver's seat and begin to pull the car around to the Rite Aid parking lot. I still haven't looked at the damage so I don't know what exactly is fucked up. As I pull the car off the dirt onto the pavement, I hear the metal against the pavement just dragging. I was driving on just the rim. Talk about an horrible sound. So I manage to get the car to the middle of the parking lot, and I put it in park and get out. I walked around to the wrecked part to look, and I'm just speechless. My Highlander is FUCKED. The tire is completely off the rim, I look behind the wheel and some bar is completely snapped in half. The car is undrivable. I can't even put on the spare because the body is so fucked up. May I remind you, I wasn't even driving the car when this happened. So, I start freaking out. I have no clue what to do. At this time it's about 2:00 AM in the morning. One of the firsts things I do is take my grinder, pipe, and weed and hide it behind a dumpster nearby incase the cops roll by. Me and Mike talk to each other and we have no idea what to do. So, I decide to just man up and call my parents. My parents are super cool, but if I do something really stupid they can get pretty pissed. Another thing I should add is that they DO NOT like me hanging out with Mike. They know about his past and how he got kicked out of multiple schools etc. I get out my phone to call my house, and my phone is dead. Great. So, I ask Mike for his phone and call my house. First try, no luck. They don't answer. I call again and my mom picks up. We have a short conversation, I was still freaking out, so I was talking really fast, but basically I just told here to come to the Rite Aid ASAP. I can tell she's very confused, but she says okay. I hang up and my dad calls me right back. Mind you when my Dad gets mad, he gets PISSED. He yells and everything. He calls me back and asks me what happens. I tell him and he immediately asks if I'm drunk. I say no and tell him to just come ASAP. He tells me to get away from the car because he does not want to the police to drive and see the car then see us. I can already tell he's pissed.

So I walk about 500 yards away and just sit down and wait for my parents. I am stilling a little freaked out, but for some reason I totally sobered up when we hit the wall. It must have been the adrenaline. Anyways my parents take for what seems like forever to get there, and they pull in the parking lot. My dad gets out and looks at my car and some security guard from a subdivision nearby walks over to ask what happened. I am still not by the car so my parents haven't seen me yet. My dad comes up with some bullshit lie along the lines of my son hit a pothole, swerved, and hit the wall. At that moment I start to walk over and I see the security guard point at me. I guess he just tells my dad that I was in the car. Anyways, my dad pulls my car into an actual parking spot and yells at me and Mike to get in the car so we can leave before the cops show up. The drive home was miserable. It's 2:30 in the morning and I am riding in the car with BOTH of my parents back to my house. My dad is screaming at me at this point. You name it, he probably said it. He asked what the fuck we were doing blah blah blah. I don't say anything and just wait till we get home. We get to my house and Mike's mom is also there. We go inside and so we can tell them what happened. Mike is still blown out of his mind, or at least it looks like it. His eyes are as red as a stop sign, and he hasn't said a word. I decided that I might as well just tell them the truth. I tell them exactly what happened. I didn't leave out a detail. My dad is still baffled about why Mike was driving and I wasn't. He thinks its just total bullshit. I told them we smoked etc. etc. This is the first time they have caught me smoking although I think they knew beforehand but just haven't said anything. Anyways, it's about 3 AM and my parents decide that they'll figure everything out in the morning.

I have not talked to my dad since Monday because he has been busy with work, but I wrote him a check for all the money I have. My mom is still being a bitch to me. I'm tired of typing at this point. I'm probably gonna have to quit smoking for a while if not for good. I have no car and I have my training at my new job tomorrow. I have no idea what's going to happen as far as who's going to pay for the car to be fixed. All that I know is that I have zero money, no car, and extremely disappointed/pissed parents.

Just thought I would share this with you guys. It sucks badly. 4/20 is soon too. Damn.

Yeah I left it there, but I went back the next day to get it. So I have it now.

if i could give you advice, it would be to stop chillin with mike and smokin weed for a while. get your job and work on earning your parents trust back

If that's the way your parents react when you get in a troubled situation such as that, I wouldn't say they are very chill...

Also, why did you write your dad a check for all of your money, when you arn't even sure what the deal is with fixing the car?

@Moto- Yeah he's definately paying. As for the amount, I'm not sure. I guess my parents are going to work it out.

@J-Pimp- My parents are actually very chill. They just get pissed right when they find out I did something stupid. Then everything is normal again. They actually smoke too so.
I wrote my dad a check because it's obviously going to cost money to be fixed. And I'm sure it's going to cost more than the check I wrote him.

Well I'm going to play devil's advocate here and say that you should have just sit in your car when you felt aweful. If I was in that situation and I know that feeling you are talking about, I would have never let a friend that was wrecked drive my own car. No offense but I think you deserved it for acting stupid. But as for damages I think Mike should pay for it.

I paid my dad because I do not know who's paying for what yet. Obviously Mike is going to pay for some of it if not all. I think my dad is going to give me it back though so that's cool. Everything is good between us now.

Thanks bro. I found out today that the bill for my car is approximately 4200. Coincidence or not?
