So my new car went up in flames

Title says it all. I just bought a VW passat wagon, no more than 2 weeks ago and now she's sitting dead in my driveway. I finally had a decent car with leather heated seats and all those fancy luxury options and i watched her catch fire today. I had just finished burning some head stash with my friend and was bringing him to work when i lost all power to the car. Assuming it was the alternator/dead battery i coasted into a parking lot and as soon as the car came to a stop, thick black smoke started billowing from under the hood. Popped it open and sure enough, the battery caught fire because the asshole who sold it to me connected all the wires straight to the battery instead of through the grounds when he rewired the car. Soon flames were were melting down hoses, destroying my sensors and melting my wire harness. oh joy I couldn't help but laugh though because things had been going so well lately that something was bound to go wrong soon. Best part is, I just started a job a 1/2 hour away from my place. Looks like its time to put on the charm and see if i cant get my grandparents to help me out with a ride.

Wish me luck blades, and smoke one for Carlotta, she was one classy car cut down in her prime

I hope you have good insurance and sue that dude for incompetence. You could have easily been fatally injured due to his negligence. I'm glad you're all right, though.

The last thing this country needs is more lawsuits, imo. Arguably it's just as much the OPs fault for not checking under there and just trusting him. Don't get me wrong, I'd probably have not checked it either.

Still that's terrible man, good luck with the insurance.

What do you mean "connected directly to the battery", like he didn't use the fuse blocks lol. Anyways sounds like a shade tree mechanic did a shitty electrical job, that sucks bro.

I agree, i have no intention of suing the dude. Its just not my style. On a side note though, my Grandparents felt sorry enough for me to give me a pickup truck. All in all, things worked out alright, coulda been worse aye?

(dealer gave me a nice free sack o dank out of pitty)

my friend had a 67 or a 69 VW bus that sadly caught fire on his birthday. It was such a sweet wagon. I wanted to cry when I found out it burnt down, but then I laughed instead.

No, the last thing this country needs is more frivolous lawsuits. This isn't it.

Clearly I disagree, but don't really think arguing over this is worth it.

Grats on luckin' out with the truck though mang, that's stellar.
