i hit my head pretty hard

i was skateboarding at the local skatepark, and I rarely wear my helmet. I skate everyday & have for the past few years, never hitting my head. But today while rolling into the 8ft. halfpipe my feet slipped a little right before I rolled in & for you skaters you know what I'm talking about. Well my balance was shifted off and my back truck got caught on the coping, so needless to say I smacked the ground pretty hard and hit the back left side of my head. It didn't hurt much and I felt real light headed when I got up, my hearing got messed up a little temporarily but I feel pretty dazed as of right now. I know this isn't a great story but this is really more of a question....

should I go to the doctor and get a scan of my head or anything? i've heard stories of people hitting there heads hard & then feeling fine but their brain bleeds and they die. do i risk this? & if i go to the doctor do you think there is a chance they'd prescribe me some pain killers? becuz i'd definitely go to the doctors then.

if you had a hemmoraghe youd be dead already. happened to some kid on a mountain when i was skiing once. nailed the tree, made it down the mountain, got to the lift line and dropped dead. You probably have a moderate to severe concussion. Go to the doc and get a cat scan anyways dude those things can fuck you up. and yes maybe painkillers

it really cant hurt to go....and it could possibly hurt not to....but i dunno im not a doctor and i cant see yer head if yer hearings still funny or you feel hazy STILL id prolly goto the doctors soon -- i quit skating a few years back but i def feel for you man lol had some great falls myself

Go to the doctors man. Ive had countless concussions snowboarding and ive gone to the ER every time. You never know when that one time you fuck up.. could be your last time.
