People that think marijuana is horrible

I was talking to this girl last night. She started to tell me how I have changed and how she misses the old me. I told her I am still the same I just like to get high. She told me she was crying which made me feel horrible because she was a really good friend.

She then said that someone she knew died of smoking too much pot. I told her that it's almost virtually impossible to die of overdose of cannabis consumption. She was like well I don't know why you think that because YOU CAN DIE!

She said she really needed to talk to me so I drive over to her house. When I get there I gave her a big hug and she started crying on me. I mean I felt horrible. I told her that we should hang out sometime and I will show her I haven't changed and she agreed. We will probably hang out today.

I just don't know what to do in these certain situations. I would have started ranting about how it's not bad. It would have went in one ear and out the other. She wouldn't have cared what I had to say. I know almost everyone has experienced criticism and people treat you like an inferior just because you smoke. What do you guys do in these types of situations?

You're not guilty of anything, so don't feel like you are. If she is after all, a good friend, she'll realize that it's not doing anything bad to you and you can both move past this stupid sensationalist scenario.

You don't have any close friends I guess.

It sucks when girls put on the water works but just show her that you're the same and that smoking weed is just something you do to help with stress or sleeping or whatever.

doesnt that just make you sad? not that they're giving you shit about it, but that they are so closed minded about the whole thing. i hate when you're just getting to know someone, been talking to someone for a while and the topic comes up and you find out they're totally against it for the sole reason of "its bad". or when you're talking to someone that you haven't talked to in a while (like since you started smoking) and you find out the same thing.

ssaaadd world! thankfully most ppl i meet in school (art dept) are pretty open minded about it if they dont smoke already. but you still get a lot of crazies in my "normal" classes and every day life that just think you're shit for smoking.

I do have like 3 close friends. These people I would die for. This girl is just one of my friends. 2 of my 3 closest friends smoke pot and the other doesn't but he doesn't judge me on it. Haha it's weird. I was in a depressed mood kind of but then I realize what good friends I have. Funny how it works out isn't it?
