the worst was probably having a hemorrhaged surgery site torn open and repaired while i was awake. Goddamned Canadian healthcare system, but thats another thread altogether.... I'd just had a tumor removed from my lower abdomen and they didn't stitch the site correctly. I came to after the surgery and felt very strange. They monitored me, but everything seemed within the normal range. I mentioned i was incredibly cold, so the nurse went to get me a heated blanket. She came back and pulled the sheets back to put it against my skin and i was covered in blood. They rushed about 15 people in right away and opened me back up immediately to stop the hemorrhage. Thats one disgusting feeling, having someone elses hands inside of your own body while you're conscious.

I've had a few other bad ones too. I ruptured three of my spinal discs and slowly paralyzed myself as well. The back and leg pains Heatherly was mentioning were very similar, so i can certainly sympathize, I'm sorry you're having such a tough time with pain right now.

Another was ploughing into a half-ton truck at 100km/h. That sucked pretty bad. it was more of a muscular pain than the other two, so its almost a separate thing in my head. None were too much fun though, thats for sure.

I can definately empathise with some storys, mine would be when I was In hospital and had like 3 ops. to remove the lower section of my lung when i woke a few hours after the last one and the epijural numbed the wrong side so was on basic painkillers, with two 9inch drains in my chest.. trust me it was horrible esspecially when the nurses are accusing you of exagerating..apologies on the poor spelling

I had my hand setting on a table, with for some reason my pinkie finger curled up. So the first "digit" was flat on the table. My friend for some reason decided it would be a good idea to smash it with his geometry book. It basically crushed my pinkie. Man that hurt for like 2 months afterwards.

It's still all crooked.

I have two stories.

1. I was 6 and I was standing on top of an old laundry hamper that had broken plastic in places... I was young and had just got done going to the bathroom so i had no pants or underwear on and the reason I was standing on the hamper was because I thought I heard my dad coming home from work so I was peering out the window. All of a sudden the laundry hamper collapsed and I fell down and my shaft got caught on the broken plastic and basically got ripped in half, and was only holding together by a few threads of skin or whatever it was. We had to wait for my grandma to get to our house so she could drive me and my mom to the hospital, because my mom couldnt drive as she had to hold my shaft together...

2. I stabbed my finger with a scalpel, and didnt think anything of it because it was a fairly small cut (thin) and didnt seem to deep and didnt bleed to long. So I went to work as a dish washer and worked for 6 hours with this open cut with no bandage. At the end of the night I realized that my finger was getting stiff and stiffer and starting to hurt. So I went to my girlfriends house still thinking nothign of it, by the time I got there it was so painful I couldnt move it at all. I pride myself on trying to be one of those feel no pain people so I was standing there like on the verge of tears from the pain, and finally said I had to go home. I drive a stick shift and the wound was on my right hand, which i shift with, so on the way home it was so painful that tears were streaming down my face the whole way (15 min drive). Got home and convinced my mom that I really had to go to the hospital, we got there and soon found out that I had pierced my tendon and nerve tubes and they had filled with fluid and had a small infection already( from the dirty dishes im guessing). Lots of morphine tho.. it was great!!

kidney stone worst pain ever and no matter what you do nothing helps atleast i didnt have to piss it out it was the size of a bullet they cut that shit outta my stomach

i gotta agree with everybody who said calve. one time in the middle of the night i flexed my calve so hard on both legs, i suppressed the pain by rolling around in bed until it went away, man it felt like someone was ripping out pieces of my muscle. never felt that much pain since then.

Contracting a horrible virus for an entire Christmas vacation.
The only positive side to it was the hallucinations it caused but that was before I started using drugs so I couldn't even appreciate them.

It felt like what I imagine dying of a heroin overdose would feel like.

i have 3

1. least painful. Riding my bike on a recently graveled road and flew over the handle-bars (still dont know how i did that) and cut my chin pretty bad and my right arm. Still have a scar on my chin.

2. Moderate. Ok i was probably.. 5ish and i was running up those boards you use to put like lawnmowers and 4-wheelers into the bed of a truck, and i noticed one was about to fall off. Well i was thinking "if i run up that and it goes from under me, imma get owned. so i was trying to move it to a more sturdy location but i guess i fucked up and the whole wooden plank feel on my middle finger, causing my muscle and shit to come out. Disgusting. 5-7 stitches later and im fine. still have a tiny scar and you can feel a bump on my finger.

3. Worst. This one didnt actually hurt becuase i went into shock, but i imagine it would have been the worst for me. First varsity baseball game of the season my sophomore year, im 6th in the lineup, and we get through 5 people before we get 3 outs.. kinda disappointing, but oh well, next inning. So we take the field, do our warm-ups, and then we're ready. Im playing 2nd. First pitch, strike. Second pitch, pop up toward right field, I'm thinking "ok right fielder's got it." Then i noticed theres a strong wind coming from right field so im thinking i might have a shot at it, well neither of us call it and we collide. My mom said it sounded like two helmets colliding. He has about 50lbs on me, and he hit me above my left eye, with the same spot except above his right eye. I had caught it but that was like .000000000001 seconds before the collision so i dropped it. So my dad comes to the field (hes an assistant coach) and everyones asking if im bleeding, well i couldnt see, so i was just like "idk probably" but i wasnt, surprisingly enough. Then they start asking if i can walk and im like "yeah i can" so i stand up and fall over lol. After that my dad helps me off the field to which NO ONE WAS CLAPPING. Normally people do that when someone gets injured. All i have to say is, fuck that town.

So fast-forward about an hr. my dads doing 70 to get back to our town hospital, which is when i found out i had a concussion because i started throwing up. This would be concussion numero dos, but this one i remember everything. Well they look at me, and being the brain-surgeons that they are, tell me i have a concussion and tried to charged an outrageous amount, but our insurance stopped that.

Anyway, they send me to a better hospital in the next town. They have me stay over night and basically make me stop throwing up, because at this point im throwing up blood. so i stay the night, and during the night shift my girlfriend's mom comes in and checks on me because she works there, which actually made me feel better because i really dont know why. Kinda gay, o well.

Fast forward a little over a month. My brother convinces us to get it check out just in case. So we go to the Optometrist, which happens to be my girlfriends dad haha. and he says i may have broken a bone. Turns out, i did. Now im the proud owner of a silicon implant on the lower portion of my left eye socket .

I didnt feel it cause of shock... but I hit a truck laying flat on a skateboard, and put a hole through my skull. It's still a fair scar, and theres a big indent there because they did a shit job filling it in.

yeah all those muscle spasms...when your calf/bottom of foot/ or your thighs lock up and just cause pure pain...i dont think theres a worse feeling

then again ive never been shot...

When i broke my back.

Went snowboarding, hit the tabletop wrong, landd hard, knocked the wind out of me for what felt like 5 minutes. Got up and rode down the mountain in EXTREME PAIN. Stayed in lodge for rest of day. Went got xrays the next day and had 2 compression fractures in my back.

Wasnt allowed to walk for 2 weeks and then had to be extremely careful after that but now im 100% back
