O RLY. lets hear it then. i bet you are a Dr.

so for you to claim it doesnt... you'll be familiar with the brain, with the chemical involved, and how the body deals with it..... i'd love to hear your conflicting evidence so i can be put in my place and shut the fuck up, cos i sure as fuck aint rantin on about this cos its fun.

er on the side of caution is what i say. its not like this is a major food group i'm advising people of the potential danger of now is it...

i do. but i'm also not ignorant about addiction and the chemical persuaders. there's a balance to be understood here.

you have NO ROOM to bitch at anyone else about what they put in their bodies.
well i wouldnt actually say i'm bitchin, but ok, sure.. fine, i'm bitching.... and i DO have a fucking right. the same way we have a right to bitch about junkies, edit~ thought i should point out, junkies are the victem really, and those who unwittingly and uneducatedly eat this crap, even more so. cos it's not just what goes into their bodies, its what happens to their bodies and how this alters their interactions withthe rest of us. ever had a junkie break into your house with a knife looking to steal anything to help him find his next fix? ever had dealers bust into your house looking for someone else who hasnt payed their drug debts and then bust your head open with a metal basebal bat so you get a metal plate in your head the rest of your life? ripples. dont tell me i aint got the right to bitch. i got the right to bitch. especially when folks around me start getting so stupid their driving becomes impaired (my dad used to be a race driver for fucks sake, now he cant even keep a racing line on a straight road!!!!! k, to be fair, it was one day of a few slip ups) when folks around me become so stupid they cant react to basic stimuli for their own survival, when they cant take in logic or new information, when they are reduced to be akin to the song "thick as a brick" where they can only feel, but not think.... yeah... we have the DUTY to make our voices heard. i dont wanna say "i told you so" to a bunch of brainless zombies in 5 years. i wanna explore new avenues of thought through conversation with other people with their mental faculties intact.
what use would it be to be the only person with a brain if there was no one else left but a pile of empty shells.
i'm almost in tears at the prospect.

.... i'd probably just start munching it too if i was the only one left. better to be too stupid to know than deal with that nightmare.

Of all people, I thought smokers were the one that were the most "hey, your life, live it how you want, I'm living mine how I want" of them all.

fucking right man.

fucking dilema.

one of the lucky ones. "from time to time". do you know how statistically lucky you are that you can just keep it at that? ... having said that... i only smoked one a week for the first 4 or 5 years... n i nearly died from them.... so if anyone sees me lighting a cig or even smoking a joint with tobacco in it... PUNCH, ME, IN, THE, FACE.

That info will be a great start, and it actually doesn't look like it will be too hard to do (other than the red meat)

I'll definetly do some research on my own about the topic but I figured since you seemed to know about it and I knew nothing about it, this thread would be a good place to start.

Thanks!
no worries man. this is bigger than rep.

glad to see the spirit of independent research is still alive n well.

really glad.

www.educate-yourself.org has loads of great info. and if any of you find fault with the info presented in educate-yourself.org and wanna come bitching or debunking to me with it, you missed the point... that being to EDUCATE YOURSELVES!

your education is way too important to leave it to anyone else.

at the risk of scaring off even more people with long information laden posts, i'm gonna post a reply to a "geoengineering on the curriculum"/"al gores inconvenient truth" thread on another forum.

like mike ruppert ( of copvscia and beyond the wilderness fame) said in trying to bitchslap open peoples brains in his excellent 911 exposay, "YOU dont read!" highlighting that this is what the control freaks of the world want and know, and what lets them get away with admitting they think its a good idea to put cancer in vaccines in news paper interviews because they know no one will notice and nothing will be done. its likely why i get away with writing all this crap despite the echelon project.

anyways, here's the post i'm posting as it has some info on stuff to avoid putting ON your body, not just IN your body

i too was quite impressed when i first saw it.

a little digging and you see it's not the whole picture, and that there is a "noble lie" of ommission here. more on that in a bit.

here's a great ted talk by Al Gore. 20 mins on 15 things u can do to help.
http://www.ted.com/index.php/talks/view/id/1

and here's a ted talk which highlights some of the stuff ommited / neglected to be mentioned by gore, whatever the reason being for that. more on that later.
http://www.ted.com/index.php/talks/view/id/192

All the talk about CO2 is an act of grosse misdirection.
have we forgotten that plants breath in CO2, and the more CO2 available to them, the more oxygen they produce and the more they grow (given ample light, which sunlight achieves easily. more on that later.) and see the landmasses of canada/greenland and of north europe and most especially, asia. That is alot of trees out there on russia. those who have looked at the data will know that come a little thawing, there's a huge amount of change in the composition of the air from these northern expanses of vegetation. nature has her checks and balances. to illustrate this further, i recall a story of some biotech company that were going to develope bacteria to eat up polutants. while they were working on it, in their research, they discovered that nature was already making new lifeforms that were chewing up some of the polutants they were looking into. nature has her checks and balances.

more on the CO2...
so i claim nature can handle the carbon dioxide... she can. but only to a point. like vitamin C for us, there is a saturation point where it gets put back out. so if there is too much carbon dioxide, the plants will actually be breathing it out too! we would have to be increasing the amount of carbon dioxide very quickly.... and last time i looked at the graphs, we were still accelerating the rate at which we were accelerating the rate at which we pump out carbon dioxide! !!!

nature has her checks and balances.

and that's not always such a rosey cheery thing. sometimes mother nature will get pissed off. i recently got infested with at least three types of parasites at once, and empathised with gaia. if the little organisms dont live in harmony with the greater being on which they live, that greater being WILL GET RID OF THEM, lest they change their ways and behave simbiotically or synergistically.

remember me saying carbon dioxide was a misdirection? it's not the gas we should be so concerned with. sure, its the one we pump out the most of, sure its the one there's most of up there, sure it's causing global dimming a bit. but it's pretty harmless, compaired with some of the other stuff we've been poluting with, and are still accelerating the rate at which we produce them!

my favourite one to mention to people is parfum

its a known catalictic carcinogen.

and is non-biodegradeable.

for those not so savvy on the sciencey lingo, what that means is:

catalyst: something that speeds up and facilitates reaction rates but is left unchanged during the reaction.

carcinogen: causes cancer.

non-biodegradeable : it's not going to get absorbed harmlessly into nature any time soon.

every drop of rain that falls on planet earth has trace amounts of it now thanks to us.

and we need not think this is not our responsibility and point the finger at big nasty corporations (though if you do that i'll probably be clapping at the sidelines too), because i'llbet there's not one person reading this who doesnt own some product containing parfum in it.

anyone who looks up what parfum is might come back and whine and reason with "but its just..." just nothing! a carcinogen! a CATALIST to causing cancer! even if it's weak at causing cancer on its own, all it needs is a few other carcinogens and it multiplies the effect! and it's non biodegradeable! that means every little bit we add, it's there for ages, passing through your body acting to increase your chances of getting cancerous, then stick around for a while before entering another, then maybe get absorbed by a plant for a while ready to be eaten to cause cancer for another creature, then on and on causing cancer wherever it goes, unchanged for ages! that is of course unless nature pulls a trick outta her hat and makes some new species that just loves to eat parfum. or we do. frankly i'd rather trust mother nature, but who knows, we might not have a chance. do me a favour and go leave this thread right now to check the labels on all your cosmetics and toiletries and see how many you have left after you throw out all the ones that have parfum in them. go on... do it right now, then come back to this thread and scroll down.

so, assuming you've gone and checked and even thrown out all the one's that have parfum...
... you have none left right?
ok, i wasnt including toothpaste and mouthwash.
I would go on to mention some of the scary things about other comon ingredients, like sodium laureth/laurel sulphate which strips your hair and scalp of it's natural defences locking you into shampoo/conditioner dependence, but, if you understood the thing about parfum, you'll have already thrown all of them out and vowed to never buy them again, and to always check the label.
frightening prospect of having no shampoo? well, if you cant be bothered to go the 3 months it's said to take for your natural defences to return, there are a few companies out there which use much kinder ingredients. the only one i can remember the name of right now is "burt's bees" which i'm sure you'll know how to find on the internet.

so climate....
did you watch the two ted talks above?
the second one, (which if i got the link correct) talks about what gets taught in some schools around the world these days as "geoengineering" in a few of it's various guises. mother nature has her own forms of this, particularly in her checks and balances. but what about these man made versions? could we? should we? would we?
we can, we shouldnt, we are.
and not just "geoengineering". remember i said i got infested with at least three critters at once? sounded rather rediculous, perhaps even implausible. i was out cycling and cycled through what, from my self motiveated research, know to be what is most comonly refered to as a "Chemtrail", the air smelled foul and i felt strands of stuff on my face. kinda like you feel when theres a spider's web infront of you, but a little heavier. seems i wasnt the only one to be infested, the person selling the anti-lice stuff said lots of people were infested recently. which on it's own is kinda what you'd expect if there was lice going around. it was the event of cycling through that chokinly foul stuff and getting crap in my face for hundreds and hundreds of yards, coupled with being infested with more than one type of critter having never been infested before in my life, that all pointed to something else going on.
a quick glimpse through some of the many many videos that are constantly being put up and taken down on you tube will alert you to the fact that this is far beyond a hoax or some wild paranoid's consipiracy theory, and that it is actually happening. there are alot of websites out there on teh topic, many made by people who have been actively following, hunting and studying these "chemtrails". one such site showed images of stuff collected off the front of cars, including images seen through a microscope of the many numerous types of bacteria the cobweb like stuff was laced with. after all, if it were only one thing it were being laced with, and everyone all over the place suddenly got ill with the same thing, we'd all get pretty suspicious pretty fast. ... gotta boil the frog slowly you see.
(if you've seen the al gore film or his 2004 talk with the "move-on" people which inspired his film, you'll get the boiling a frog sarcastic comment)

so, to answer the original post... how do i feel about the idea of teaching our kids in schools the stuff in the resource pack? well, i've not seen it so i couldnt say. i for one am very much in favour of homeschool, especially where there is strong comunity support, as everyone i've met who was homeschooled was much better educated, more capable of independent thought, and generally a much more vibrant personality, and the world could really use a lot more of that, rather than the homogenised drones the education system seems to try to produce, and the lowest comon denominator so many training schemes try to get people to aim for.

all i can say is that i am really glad there's the internet these days. and kids generally know their way around that. shouldnt we be teaching them research techniques to augment their independent education? maybe not, kids are pretty curious sponges of information. i wonder how long before i start feeling old and baffled by them like some people seem baffled by me.

digit, good posts, informative as always.
personally, i do my research/homework too, but sometimes i get a bit lazy...i know, its actually sad, i know whats good and whats not, and sometimes still choose the latter. props on not only researching but actually going thru with it.
i mean....mickey d's every once n a while cant be THAT bad...
and hey i dont mean to get personal but are you smokin ganj nowadays? i remember in the past reading many of your posts bout tobbacco, it got me thinking. i was just wondering if you used a vapo or how you get down, or at all anymore. i always wondered the damage i did when smoking blunts, i mean shit i probably spent over a grand on blunts alone, probably smoked like 5,000 of em in my day, jus worries me bout all the tobbacco i consumed even though i was avid against smoking ciggarrettes....just got a stoner thinkin bout shit, k, im done, sorry for the mini hijack.

[editted-in preface]~ please dont respond to just the original post. it will save us alot of repetition, and your questions or points may already be answered or muted/nulified if you read on.... you might even pick up a few pieces of really useful information to augment your lives with. also, please be familiar with this symbol " ? ". it means it's a question, not a statement. that said, My main DILEMMA these days is.....

food.

or rather,

not-food.

i'm now conscious of what i put in my body and the cumulative effects of stuff.
i'm vigilant on the labels, and generally take a mix of advice from Ayurveda (MOST RECCOMENDED), eating for your blood-type (once i find out which mine is), eating as per your geographical location, and the best advice, just eating what you feel like from a healthy selection of natural foods.
i look into what some of the stuff they add to food is all about.... and even if its some lie that these things are bad for you (honestly though, what reason is there for going to such lengths to lie about this stuff), then it's still wise to er on the side of caution and just not take them in.

well... here's where the dilema lives...

the worst things, i know will rot your brain, shaft your natural defences, cause addictions, and all sorts of nasty shit like that.... and although i'm not eating this crap anymore... the people around me, the people i live with... still do... and i see them deteriorating. its really upseting, watching people harm themselves. i've told them, i've advised them, i've reasoned with them..... but they remain "blissfully" ignorant. is it because their brains have already been rotted away sufficiently so as to prevent them from taking in details? do i need to use techniques to get them to emotionally understand rather than intelectually? do i need to scream it to all three parts of their brain at once like the mind controllers on tv do all the time? i'd rather not stoop to intentional manipulations. i liked the notion that we all had functional rational minds that could take in information however it was presented and make informed choices for myself.... but still.... they eat that crap thats fucking them over....

and the dilema very succinctly is.....

should i just constantly dump all the food that is bad for them until they get the message, i will bear the brunt of their hate until they realise it is for their own good? i imagine i will be risking violence upon my person for this... but see little other recourse to save them and what chance they have of having a functioning brain in 20 years time.

should i start dumping nearly everything in the house, at least the stuff that contains aspartame and ascesulfame k?

maybe once i am earnin enough to replace it all......

hurts to see it.

Um....can we say hitler. Why don't you cut off a finger until they understand that you know whats better for them then they do. LoL.

But in all seriousness, why would you do that. Every person has the right to do whatever ever they want to their own body. Once it effects others in a way that they can't change for themselves, then you can do a more direct approach.

What if I thought that marijuana smoking was just horrible and I thought it was rotting your brain. Should I chuck your weed everytime you buy until you get the hint?

Just something to think about. This is why personal freedom is so crucial to a happy life. Everyone has a different opinion of how someone else should live and operate.

no appology required for the hijack. i could use the break in this thread from peeps totally misinterpreting me, and not recognizing what the word "dilemma" means nor question marks. a very welcome break indeed. these hitler comments/accusations would almost be starting to grate on me if it werent for samadhi and knowing how laughable they are. if i were to mention it to some of my friends they'd be pissing themselves laughing at the idea of me being fascist... indeed, it has already been a joke of ours.

"i mean....mickey d's every once n a while cant be THAT bad..."
yeah, a little crack an crystal meth every once in a while cant be THAT bad... get mah point? how many BILLIONS do they have to freely spend on researching what makes it more addictive??? ummm... LOADS! lol.
nah, on the supersize me documentary, there was that one guy who had adapted to it as his diet and lived of bicmacs every day and had been for a few decades supposedly.... and his health was nothing like the healthy guy who went cold turkey on the health food and just ate the mcD shit.... you saw the effect on the canary down the mineshaft then.
we're very addaptive... being life. n all that.

"but are you smokin ganj nowadays?"
alas, no... supply issues, and not in a place where growing is viable. seen my health suffering in the past few months since the supply dried up / ceased. not fun. but a reminder that i am still a thereputic partaker of the herb, rather than just a recreational like i was starting to tell myself i was. underlying issues have still got a few years before they sort themselves out. ...n no, i aint gonna trot my medical history out here before anyone asks.

" sometimes i get a bit lazy"
some say that is the most defining trait of humans. ...i think it more likely that this is another bi-product of the chemical anchors we are dragging around, our bodies having to expend all this extra energy dealing with sorting out "the wheat from the chaff", that we just aint being given an oppertunity to see our potential.

"props on not only researching but actually going thru with it."
tis what i first learned from buddhists... live/lead by example, not by preachin.
... idk if i managed to get rid of the preachin yet tho, nor if i should even want to.

"and sometimes still choose the latter."
often it's what we need. sometimes it's just what we are addicted to. where the distinction between the two is, i cannot say for i'm not sure there is a distinction. perhaps indeed, it is only the addictions which cause harm that are "bad".

"i remember in the past reading many of your posts bout tobbacco, it got me thinking. i was just wondering if you used a vapo or how you get down, or at all anymore. i always wondered the damage i did when smoking blunts, i mean shit i probably spent over a grand on blunts alone, probably smoked like 5,000 of em in my day, jus worries me bout all the tobbacco i consumed even though i was avid against smoking ciggarrettes."

bongs mainly for me. pipe often too. sometimes eating it.
idk what they put in the blunts... doubt its anywhere near the shit they put in the machine made cigs. not many people realise that it's not just nicotine in them, but the nicotine has been through a similar process of what it takes to turn cocaine into crack, making it WAY more addictive and short lived. and of course the fact that you're inhaling around 4000 different chemicals... many of them radioactive isotopes, lethal gasses, or larger particles like glass fiber designed to lacerate your throat so the drugs can enter your bloodstream... and thats the kinda shit they should be warning you about... not weak, paltry, ambigious non-specifics like "smoking kills". in modern street lingo, that even sounds like it's high praise! lol. it was the slow, painful suffering part before death that woke me up to finally getting my ass away from that shit. both feet were in the coffin, n u better pray that comes fast n sharp enough to shock you into jumpin out.
having said that and having also been a cigar smoker... yeah... that shit is naaaasty. who needs coughing up lumps of black shit.
i like high trich extracts. bubble hash, honey oil, budder, etc. purity. medical grade. maximal harm reduction.

virtecs say

nearly exactly my question and why i made this thread. should i?
i mean....
i've brought lots of the information to their attention... but their ability to take on board new information has likely been impaired through their UNWITTING use of the main substance at issue with here.
and if they brought loads of information countering my information then great, we'd be in a dialogue and be able to dialectically whittle away at it until we found the truth. ... such is the ideal as in many branches of philosophical thinking.
the indoctrinated line of "people have the right to do whatever they want to themselves" doesnt work for me as a form of moral absolutism anymore.
does that mean i'm going to go interfere with their lives... most likely, NO! duuuh! but this is why it's a dilema... their free will has already been interfered with, and i am only looking for options to remove the interferer already present!

it's not at all analogous to my use of the herb. that is a conscious choice. the herb is the thing i'm seeking out.
the aspartame.... well.... if they went out of their way to get it... then perhaps it would be different. perhaps. how one deals with family members addicted to highly destructive substances is a difficult issue, tough love...? anyone remember in the film Trainspotting when renton's parents tried to make him get clean?
but they are not seeking out aspartame. it is something added to what they are buying.
if your friend had weed that was laced with glass beads.... would you knowingly let him smoke it?

you talk about freedom of choice, yet you wanna make decisions for other people about shit that they will put in their own body. How would you feel if someone soaked all your pot in soap and water? same shit man, different situation. Situations not fucked, your reasoning is

Digit stands opposed to bad nutrition, then I take it?

That is one well entrenched enemy you're up against there, my friend, and I think it is well worth the quixotian energy you've mustered. I am a victim of bad choices and putting way too much shit into my diet, I seem to have a "viking's" stomach, I think if it came down to it, I could survive on roaches and lichens.

Come to think of it, compared to the contents of the shelves at most convenience stores, roaches and lichens might be a nutritional step upward.

America is a very hard place to avoid bad food, because there is another tasty cancer cluster around every corner. We have Starbuck's every 150 feet in some areas, no kidding, but try to find somewhere to buy an organic muffin and you have to drive your fossil fuel driven eco-smasher 25 miles each way to find a reputable baker.

Pepsi and Coke own almost everything here, no shit, sugarwater is like oil here, Soda Magnates and Oilmen, raping the minds of everyone since they learned how to speak.(probably from watching TV)

The soy industry has its roots up with Monsanto, who rule the inorganic farms, and will one day choke every small farmer out of business. Hemp legalization is being held back by these bastards in California, by bribing Schwarteneggar to veto the industrial hemp bill, despite it passing the House and Senate with ease...indicating POPULAR support.

" Its Time To Rise...RISE...RISE!!!"

nearly neg repped u too. lol. getting very liberal with the neg rep i am... in the hope that the message "may you be lucky enough to recieve the same in return" (or however it's worded) is actually true and peeps actually pip up with objections about shit i say. ... hasnt happened yet tho, not for far too long.

but nah, spared you this time. ~ oh, just saw your name... lol, i might reconsider.

i'm not talking about taking food away, i did say i should probably wait until i had the means to replace it with toxin-free alternatives. and remember.... it IS A DILEMA! folks seem to be raggin on me like i'm all gung-ho about the idea.
frankly though, the anaology or aspartame in food to glass-beads in herb is pretty accurate. would all u guys who have slated me for even asking the question let your buddies toke herb u know was adulterated with crap that would imediately cause the life-long lasting health conditions?
actually... the aspartame is worse, since it's damage is never receeding, and ever accumulating!!! and impaires your ability to make sound decisions, and garner new information.
... which is exactly what i think has happened to most of the posters here. gurrr.
your inteligence and energy is being stolen from you people! revolt while you still can! your salvation is your own responsibility! it's why we're fucking on this planet in the first place! Liberate tuta meh! Save Yourselves!

and i'm gonna keep neg repping anyone who doesnt look like they read this thread. especially those who call me a fascist or a nazi!

"I was sitting in a waffle diner reading a book.. i was hungry, i'm not proud of it... and this waffle waitress comes up to me and asks [i]"hey, wot you readin' for?"[i]... aint that just the weirdest question ever? i've had, "what are you reading", but "what are you reading FOR"!?.... "well gosh darn it ya stumped me. i guess i read for a lot of reasons, and one of them is, so i don't end up being a fucking waffle waitress"

k, u got neg repped propper for that one.

i'll re-itterate the points as clear as i can for you.

they aren't buying the food for the aspartame and ascesulfame K. never have, likely never will. it's not what they want.
my herb, i bought for the herb.

herb does brain good.
aspartame does brain bad.

and biggest point to make to you, since you're claiming the opposite about me...

I DO NOT WANT TO TELL PEOPLE WHAT TO DO! I DO NOT WANT TO MAKE DECISIONS FOR OTHER PEOPLE!
is that clear enough for you?

need more evidence?
... this whole thread not evidence enough? oh... thats right, from your responce you likely didnt read it.
