So i got busted about a month ago for possession and have my court date on jan 8th. It was my first offense and I just wanted to know what is going to happen with this. I had less than a gram and am wondering if I will be drug tested and if so how soon prior to my court date should I stop smoking?

Law here in NC would have you taking step-1 classes (drug testing classes you go to until you pass a drug test - usually for 1-3 months) and about 50 hrs com service. Generally no probation for a first offense.

depends bro, if the judge wants to be an ass you could get jail time, more than likely since its your first time you'll just get probation (dont smoke while on probation, you'll get DT'ed randomly). and personally i'd stop now just to make 100% sure theres no THC in you if they do test you before/after the court hearing.

The cop that busted me made a point to say that i was cooperative. Also he never actually arrested me, I only got the charges. And I have a damn good lawyer who worked as a Boston cop for twenty years.

happened to me once, all i got was probation for 6 months. but it was for an 8th. i live in mass too. sorry dude that shit sucks. dont sweat it.

its almost impossible for anyone to know to be honest. i know people that have gotten busted with almost and ounce and didnt even get drug tested and i know others that were tested for a gram. Our system is pretty fucked up overall i dont think youll run into to big of a problem with it all. you may or may not be tested and if you are... bite the bullet and quit for a bit the last thing you want is to fail a test.
