Sundays Game - Fear and Loathing in Green Bay

It all started one week ago. The Packers were 10-2 and fresh off a loss at Dallas.

I wanted blood.

My journey started off in a bout of absolute rage. I knew the Packers were to bounce back after their little fiasco at Texas stadium. I ran to consult with father about making a trip to Lambeau as an early Christmas gift for ourselves. Not more than 20 minutes later we had ordered tickets.

Saturday morning we prepared for our journey. We acquired buds and beer for our trip, made brownies, bought dogs and brats, secured transportation, and partied the whole day. After all, we were going to Lambeau.

Sunday morning we left as minute hand struck the 6. We began our 2 hour drive South through the frozen tundra. I had a friend drive us down there and another buddy had come along to tailgate with him. We started the drive by curing our hungover bodies with a couple fat joints. As the bud was being rolled, a cop with lights flashing appeared out of nowhere. We pulled over, sheer terror in our faces. As the lights and sirens had passed us, screams of joy filled the car.

One 12 pack of Silver Bullets later, we stopped at a gas station to feed. We ran in like a pack of wild animals over a dying moose. No stoner-friendly munchie was left unturned. After ransacking the place and filling our hollows, we suddenly came to the realization we were not far from the shrine.

As we pulled into the K-Mart parking lot half a block away, the columns of that glorious green structure drew happiness into our hearts. We set up base camp and finished off the other 12 pack of Coors. We walked over to the K-Mart outdoor stand and bought some hats and facepaint. Brats and dogs came off the grill as we taunted some Raider fans. The pre-game festivities we're drawing to a close as kickoff approached.

I painted my face green and gold like Braveheart. I didn't look like a fan, I looked insane. My war paint was on, my shirt was off. My father and I started the march towards the field. Our brownies were tucked safely in my dad's pocket and security gave us not but a pat. Our first stop inside the gates was the Leinenkugel's Beer Stand. After slamming down a few beers we ran to our seats.

The mercury read 18 above. Seats were cross section walkway seats on the aisle. After pigishly wolfing down some brownies, Mason Crosby kicked the ball. The Raiders were shut down before they started playing. I and 70,000 other fan were screaming, hollaring, and intimidating. After the punt return, the fumbled punt touchdown, the 80 yard bomb to Jennings, and Ryan Grant's touchdowns a euphoria spread through my body. I don't know if it was the Green Bay gods or if it was the brownies and beer - but it felt good.

After the game we headed back North across the frozen tundra. Our celebration didn't end, as the countless beer stops back home could show. We kept a couple joints for the remaining games of the night, and I went to bed with a smile on my face knowing the Packers were 11-2.

lol, hope ya like it! I had so much fun at the game! GO PACK GO!

maaaaaan. Great story. I will first say I am a Viking fan, so I'm built to hate the Pack, but that doesn't mean I don't respect Favre. I respect the HELL out of him.
Awesome story, It was actually epic.

It was a good story but I'd be lying if I said your Hunter prose was anywhere near where it has to be So, here's a consolation prize:

I will say that eating two brownies before the Jays-Tigers opening game last April (err, this April) at Comerica is one of the coolest things I have ever done

eh, lol im not really trying. it was a journey and it reminded me of fear and loathing so I decided to write it with a Thompson-esque style. Not completely trying to imitate him because sometimes I actually talk like that haha.

But yeah, the game was a total blast.
