smoking and usage

Ok, today I got one of my friends to try weed, so around 7 today my friend takes several hits from a blunt, feels nothing. A little later we loaded my bat for him 3 times. Then later at night I made a make-shift bong and he took several massive hits (we loaded the bowl twice and I only took 2 hits of them, and each of the other friends took one each) and blew smoke out of his nose as per my request to see if he was taking it in right. He still only felt a tiny bit buzzed and that was probably just from the couple of beers that he had. He coughed alot and complained that it tasted bad ad was burning his throat. I dont get it, I mean, I hear some people like myself dont get high the first titme they smoke b/c they arent doing it right, but myself and other firends were all pretty sure he was inhaling it deep and holding it. He had a bad time and didnt even get high? Any idea on what went on or what we could have missed?

Well yea the first 2-3 times some people wont get high. Just make sure that the next time he smokes, he smokes a shit load, until he can get to the point when it only takes a few hits to get high.

it has nothing to do with the way they smoke usually.

people just don't get high the first time or even the second or a few after that. your body doesn't know the feeling.

Yeah, it's because his receptors in his body don't know what to do with the THC yet. If he smoked that much that time, maybe the next time or the time after that he'll get hella high

Yeah, the first time I smoked (actually the first three times) I hella didnt get high. But lemme tell you, the next time I did...I was super--ultra-mega-dummy-highazord. As I am now :-)

Alright thanks guys, I alwyas thought the reason that most people don't get high the first time is because they arent smoking right, I had no idea that there was a legit biological reason behind it.

Yea, I know the first time I just couldn't inhale the smoke cause it was too hot.
My second time I ripped the bowl so hard and coughed for like 10 minutes straight lol, took two hits and it was weird, I was high but I didn't realize it at the time. I was so paranoid about hitting deer (I live right near a huge park where last count 5000 deer live.... so yea....) I was going like 35-40 on a 50mph road swerving a little bit lol, it was the combination of the paranoidness of the deer and the music sounding just a lil different.

Third or fourth times were the ones where I got flat out ripped.

I'm gonna have to disagree somewhat with what ya'll are saying b/c I was high as fuck the first time I smoked. I mean, I was glued to my seat high. It also felt like I had a 30lb weight tied to my chin cause my head was drooping like a big fat bud waiting to get plucked.

It's different for everybody, some people can have several smoking sessions before there body feels it, and some people, like me, will take that first hit and just be gone.

hmm maybe those who get high the first time have already been exposed to thc secondhandedly. You may not need to be exposed to enough to get you high, but enough for it to get processed in the body. I know now that weed has been just around the corner all my life so when I tried weed for the first time, I recognized the smell as being very famililar. I got extremely baked that day

There'd be no other reason for the receptors to be open if they haven't already been in contact with the cannaboids, i would think. So someone who went to a lot of concerts when they were young or had family members who smoked would probably get high the first time they tried.

First time I smoked weed i was drunk as hell and had just smoked 3 bowls of salvia so i have no idea if i got high. the second time i smoked i stood in my friends kitchen laughing for no apparent reason for 20 minutes straight.

yeah it really gets you down when u try to show your friends a good time but then they never get high... just tell them if they really want to they need to keep trying it might take a while

Just tell a first timer if he didn't get high that he really was high and just doesn't realize it. Alot of it could be that a first timer doesn't know what to expect so his
mind which controls the body is fighting it. And if you get him to believe he's high
the next time he will think that gettin high is nothing. So next time he's offered
weed he'll be like "it ain't nothin, I can handle it" then BAM. . . .to hight to function
