You're right, there is no sentence that says "Somalia caused 9/11", but it does detail how Somalia led to the series of attacks that led up to 9/11.

Again, you're backtracking. You are now taking a more easily defensible position, that the conflict in Somalia led to further attacks. No one is debating that point, it is entirely agreed upon. However, what you said earlier was quite different. You claimed that leaving Somalia caused 9/11.

He launched an attack on the WTC WEEKS after the Somalia withdraw and even said that was his motivation.

Afghanistan is a quagmire. Bin laden is a hero over there. Afghanistan is hardly a country, it is merely a collection of tribes with some cities. We just payed a massive amount of "Aid" to Pakistan to hunt down extremists.


We came to oust the Taliban and capture bin laden for 9/11, well we fucked that up.

We have spent so much money on it already we cant just go. If we cannot maintain stability over extremists in Afghanistan, then we are endangering ourselves to worse terrorist attacks. Not only from Afghanistan but it will threaten the stability of nuclear Pakistan...

America already accounts for 60 percent of all the "coalition" foreign troops (NATO), in Afghanistan today. And thats not if Obama sends more troops. On top of the several hundred billions weve already spent there, if more troops are sent, that number will go up as well.

We dont even really have a clear set of goals there.
