Igot, go here It should give you a little more insite. Of course, there are those who will disagree with what is written, but I wasn't there, so who am I to question ancient history. It's the current history, with people who are still alive, can answer for us, what happened or at least, we can hear 2 sides to decide for ourselves. I'm sure there will be someone who will still disagree to what is written.

Sorry about that, go here to what leads up to what is going on today. Then go here to what started in December. The first question will answer your question, The Council on Foreign Relations is a trustworthy non partisan group.

The truce did not end in December. There was a ceasefire/truce from June until November, and then on Nov 4th Israel discovered a tunnel into Israel andtightened their existing blockade on Gaza, which is already considered an act of war. The truce was formally broken by Israel on Nov 5th when they raided Hamas territory and killed 6 Hamas gunmen. Israel is the aggressor, superpower and somehow the victim all at the same time. Kind of like Georgia vs SO. | |

I dig the thread, Aaronman. Just a source for information for Canadians who are not clear on Canada's history with Israel. "Israel’s values are Canada’s values." - Paul Martin, Former Prime Minister Mr. Martin is certainly correct. Canadians have a long history of human rights violations, land disputes, cultural fascism and even hints of genocide when it comes to Aboriginals. Let's just say that Israel and Canada really know how to treat a host.

And the la times is such a well respected paper? I believe it was the la times who coined the phrase about obama being the "Magic Negro". Also, the Jews have in recent historical times(last 100 years) have been attacked from others. Whether they are muslims or nazis. So, I believe that they won't sit around and do nothing any longer. The last time they did nothing they almost lost the Yom Kippur war. Of course, its OK with the Jew haters of the world to attack them on their holyist day. This hate and war dates back to 100-200ish AD. There is nothing new about the injustices between Palistine and Israel. I also will not group Palistine into Hamas. Hamas is very influential (I don't think I need to go into detail about what that means in regard to the Palestinian population), but I can't accuse Palistine of being the entity at the forefront of this current war between Israel and Hamas. Nor will I disagree that Israel and Palistine will continue to hate and hurt one another when I'm long in my grave. It's such a complex war but my point is that it is far from new as to ask who fired the first shots. I'm sorry to simplify my comments but this is such a clusterfuck of issues that 100% revolve around land and religious conflicts.

The current conflict is also not between the Jews and the Muslims, but between the Zionists and the Muslims. Listen to this man, he speaks the truth, in a time of deceit and confusion: And watch this if you do not believe that it is the Zionists and not the Jews that are the problem: And note that Ahmedinejad has been misquoted for saying that the Holocaust didn't happen, he is simply arguing it's importance of the Holocaust to the current events in Israel and Palestine, through it's significance in the WW2, by that meaning 41,749,400 civilians (non-holocaust victims) died in the WW2 according to Wikipedia, and "only" 5,752,400 Jews died (holocaust victims). So he is simply pointing out that Holocaust was no excuse for the Zionists to push to creation of the false Zionist state of Israel. I think just because he is bold enough to question the importance and relevance of the Holocaust to the events of today, and the creation of the unholy Zionist Israel state, he should not be persecuted. EDIT: And to answer your question, i will say the Zionists (Israel) fired the first shots at both the Jews and the Muslims (Palestine)

I'm a little confused by this "the state of Israel was declared" comment. Call me crazy (and you're more than welcome to do so) but this region was called the "Kingdom of Israel" for 3000 years, at least. In late 2008 archaeologists discovered a 3000 year old ostracon w/hebrew text helping to prove how long ago people existed in this "Kingdom of Israel". Granted we have little else to go on that isn't from that odd and minuplated history book called the The Old Testament (aka Bible). <-- That in itself creates a whole new slew of shit to denouce, but when science can back up historical Biblical comments, I will sit up in my chair and take note. Now you know a little more about why I date this religious hate war back to 100-200AD. We can go back further than that, but I hate to rely on a minuplated history book as the bases of my talking points. Maybe I should have added a whole list of religions that have been involved in this region since it's existence, becaues it wasn't just Jews, Muslims and Christians. Also the Crusades show us, when they attacked this region around 1098-1099, that Christian groups were involved (far before WW2). Read up on that specific to Jerusalem, it will make you puke. Hell every part of the Crusades is fucking disgusting. I do believe I made the distinction between Palestine and Hamas which should agree with your Zionistic comments, no? I made the next comment because I was sure someone would point out Israel and Palestine will hate each other forever as well...because they will. But, please, lets not pretend this religious hate war hasn't been going on for thousands of years, no matter what you want to call the name of the lands in question (Israel/Palistine/Jerusalem/Jericho/whatever...). Yes, this war has evolved to it's present state, but I have a hard time not looking at the whole gruesome picture and how religion has been at the root. This discussion is one of the most complex, multi-layered pieces of world history we can find. Not to mention the propaganda has been entrenched into society by all countries/territories/militias involved (and not involved) thoughtout time, that has taught us to believe a great deal of lies. This war, as we all know, is 100% and has always been based on religion (mostly via religious land). Not that anyone is actually disputing that last fact. *disclaimer: I believe the Bible is a book of old stories and historical documentation. I do believe it has been manipulated by many and many times over, but that doesn't stop science from finding what, if any, truths can be found in some of it's historical documentation. I <3 science. edit: I'll never claim that I'm always right. I talk a lot and am very opinionated. And I tend to speak matter-of-factly. It's just the way I am; feel free to disagree, argue, and discuss away. I enjoy perspectives.
