The zion movement of Jews back to there homeland started from Jews living in the Georgian area, none of them actually held nationality to Israel, but they felt because they were Jews that they held blood to the holy land so they migrated in large numbers to the holyland and when they filled the holy land up, they moved to scattered parts europe. Long story short, most Jews that call themselves jews actually have no nationallity to Israel.

The word Zion can be traced back to the bible. in Psalms 87:2-3 it says "The lord loves the gates of Zion more than all the dwellings of Jacob. Glorious things are said of you, the city of God."

Zion translates to fortification, The Mount Zion in Israel is the fortification that king Jacob had on the closest moutain to Jerusalem. Zion is used figuratively of Israel as the people of God. No Ossetia is it's own type of ethnic group. Think of what you think is the modern jew with the curly hair and add some darker skin tone. Russia supports there independance because it is the right thing to do, and don't want Georgia colanizing the areas round southern Russia.

Well, the EU report is finally here...

Georgian Attack Started War with Russia

Following several months of delays, the European Union finally released its official report on the 2008 Russo-Georgian War, concluding as was previously reported that the Georgian government’s shelling of Tshkinvali started the conflict.

Also as expected the report faulted the Russian government for retaliation “far beyond the reasonable limits of defense” when it essentially destroyed the entire Georgian military in response to the incident.

Both Georgia and Russia lauded the report, saying it vindicated their respective positions with regard to the war. A spokeswoman for Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said the commission’s conclusion was what “Russia has clearly and repeatedly stated.”

Georgia however told a different story, with its official statement claiming the EU had proven that the war was all Russia’s fault and that any Democratic nation would have launched the same attack as Georgia did in the face of “invasion.” The EU commission responded to the claim by noting that the group was never able to substantiate claims of a Russian invasion before the shelling.
