Cool. I totally recognize the sovereignty of Israel. I do not condone the United States being Israel's muscle. If I had met someone recently who lived in a hostile area, and I gave them money and weapons to support himself, and the hostiles who never were hostile against me figured out that I was providing support to this person and they decided to kill 3,000 of my family members with airplanes, I would no longer provide support to this person, as it is not in my best interest and because I think I have more of an allegiance to my own family than I do with someone who I recently met. I hope this analogy makes sense.
For the record, in the 8 or so wars Israel has been involved in, the US has never stepped in to help.
But how much money has the USA given to Israel for defense and for how many years? Wouldn't be fair if the USA paid for Israel's military AND had to fight their wars too. Maybe he means American boots on the ground. I don't know as I haven't looked into the 8 wars in any depth. If America gives them tanks jets and whatnot I would consider that as America fighting by proxy. Which a lot of superpowers do.
Several decades now. A large part of the money has been in the form of subsidies for US made weapons. In return, Israel's world leading R&D based economy develops many different types of inventions and technology for the US, so it's not just a one way street. What is your opinion on the US handing out aid to hostile nations such as Egypt, Pakistan, Sudan, etc?
