The Official Bad Beat Thread

Ever laid a killer bad beat on an opponent? Been on the ass end of an impossible draw? Let it all out and tell us what happened .

In my 8 years of playing poker, I guess I have been lucky enough to dodge some of the more "high profile" or spectacular bad beats, for example I have never flopped a straight flush, only to have my opponent runner-runner a royal.

But the best beat that I put on somebody else was when I was playing 10-20 Limit Hold 'em, holding QQ and my opponent had TT. The flop is T T Q, giving me a full house and my opponent quad tens. Well I bet you can guess what the turn was, a Q, giving me higher quads.

It's not the most spectacular bad beat that I've heard of or even seen, that's why I started the thread. So let's hear it.

i can't remember any hugs suck outs that i benefited from BUT i did get burned just the other day.

i had KK and raised pretty heavy pre-flop and had 1 caller

flop came KAA

i went all in (i think i had around $400 or so).. i got called & the dude had AK
i'm 99% sure that if i went all in preflop i would have been called anyway.. i had notes on the guy and he's called huge raises with less than AK.

oh well.. shit happens

Haha yeah, that's poker for ya. (I hate this game)

The thing is with big pairs you don't necessarily want to scare everybody away, with a large bet pre-flop, and you don't want to telegraph what you have. Just got unlucky on the flop.

Here's a recent bad beat that hurt.
Game: 2-5 NL

Hole Cards
Me: 22
Opponent: 88

Opponent raised to $20 preflop. I call.

Flop 2 5 7

Opponent goes all in for $80, easy call for me.

Turn: 7

River: 7 AHHHHH!!!!!!!!!

man i hate a pair of deuces in the hole LOL..

i play large pairs heavy.. only because i get burned on them so much, i'd rather take the blinds than lose to a river flush or something... but i'm a pretty mamteur player.. and that's probably the reason

I think I posted this somewhere here before, but anyways, I once had a K7 off. The flop had a K and an A in it. The turn was another K, I had trips. The river was crap. I had $85 real money and went all in (assuming the guy was only calling my bets b/c he paired his A). It turned out he had a K10, his damn kicker got me. Havent played real money since.

But I have gotten a Royal Flush before on the facebook application. I also had about 60 million chips before some bastards hacked into my account and took it all. Doesnt matter, it was only fake money.

I usually play at FTP (full tilt poker), where do you guys play at?

I had AJ of spades, my opp had AQ.

Flop comes 10s, Jd, Ks...he hits A high off that so goes all-in with $600, I call cause of so many outs I have.

Turn Hits a Qd

Flop hits Qs to give me a Royal I went from behind to even to craziness lol

That was my first, and so far only Royal Flush. It was a fun private cash game...he was mad (lost $600), but amazed to see the royal lol

no particular bad beats come to mind... they always happen. none are more special than the other in my opinion. someone flops something huge and someone sucks out. it leaves me feeling sick to my stomach and makes me hate the game a little more than earlier, but i still play it.

Oh my god! . That was at a home game too? Hmmm, stackin the deck haha? Just kidding, that's a sick bad beat though.

This shit just happened in a tournament on FTP. The guy goes all in on a 4 and 2 off. WTF!?!? I have a AK off so of course I call his ass. What do you think happened?



Knocked my ass clean out of the tournament.
