I'd love a beamer, except insurance would be around 500$ a month for one, so that's a no go. I want a newer car, I have the money I don't really want a beater I want something newer like '00+, something decent that looks nice. Not looking for speed or anything, just something reliable and nice that insurance wouldn't be out the ass on.

Well I bought my fiance an 03 Nissan Altima, they're cheap, look nice, good on gas. I'm 19 and the insurance is only like $67 a month.

Get a toyota. they last forever.

With 8 grand, you could find a nice 85 or older toyota 4x4 (85 and older have solid front axle) for around 3k for a nice one, put the rest into a lift kit, tires, lockers, gears, and armor and you'll have a pretty badass trail rig.

I agree. Its your first car, everyone does something stupid with there first car. Like not remembering to check the oil, running a red light, going to fast, spilling stuff, making a mess of the interior, etc.

Insurance companies know this, that's why they jack up the prices.

if you want to have any fun in your car get something manual, and something rwd(rear wheel drive) fwd(front wheel drive) is going to handle worse and will tend to understeer.

not true, FWD paired with a good cup kit and a sway bars will handle very fine. My Gti is on rails with this set up.

Why would your insurance be so expensive. I'm 22 my insurance for a bimmer (that isn't a sports car, m3, m5, anything m or two door i suppose) is cheaper than on my 02 eclipse, around 100-120 a month I think. That's odd yours is so pricy. Have you thought about saving 15% or more on your car insurance, or perhaps putting yourself....in good hands.

How about like a 2000+ Acura TL...Those are nice cars for the money, get around in style it's not fast but has enough power to move around ya know. and since its honda it's reliable too

if it snows where you live you are gunna want a 4x4 truck. dont get anything rear wheel drive or you will b in a ditch when it snows. i use to drive a mustang in the snow and was in the ditch at least 5 times a year, even with over 700lbs in the trunk. i just upgraded my shit to a 2008 explorer n the thing is a fuckin beast in the snow, I LOVE IT!! i recomend a truck.
