Do Physicians or Physiatrists...

Do they drug test you before prescribing Adhd medication.

Some people with past experience would be nice thanks.

in america they don't.

a physician won't, but it's possible that a psychiatrist might. However I find mostly they just use that as a scare tactic unless you come in and they think you're high on something. Otherwise you can just not take it and if they actually lived up to their word to not take that check and you as a patient... then damn would I be surprised... psychiatrists just seem to not care even remotely as much as other doctors about their patients, but of course that's generally speaking from my experience.

if they did have a "mandatory" drug test, they would do it either the first or second visit and if they were so strict odds are you would be placed on very weak meds like wellbutrin or strattera long before you see any real adhd medications.
