For a student, what's safer, adderall or caffeine? (poll)

Have you ever actually even tried adderall? Because I myself can't stand the shit. It keeps you up for ungodly amounts of time, so unless you continuously use you're still going to be tired. I can't stand the comedown of amphetamines and you might not be able to either, so adderall might not even be an option for you.

I would go with caffeine.

for overall tiredness and focus all the time I would change your diet, exercise, and cut back smoking weed. for a while i was bogged down by back pain and was very tired/lethargic. I stopped eating greasy shit, cut down to smoking only once a day (LOL), wake up and work out at 7am, and got a healthy diet. I feel great now.

Also try to get 7-8 hours of sleep at night. If you don't get alot of sleep, don't try and sleep 12 hours on a saturday to "make up" for your lost sleep. Scientists don't know why, but this actually ends up making you more tired. There's no substitute for a full night's sleep.

I'm in college and I take adderall if it's an emergency. It's not realistic for me to take it every day. Like if I have 8 hours of homework to do or if I have a huge exam that I need to ace. I'm not a huge fan of caffeine, but I do drink tea. I drink tea more because i enjoy drinking tea.

in short, don't get addicted to adderall, it makes you into a zombie. I know alot of people who are straight up hooked on the stuff since entering college. I can't blame them, the first several times you dose on the stuff it feels like a godsent drug that everyone should take. The vibe of that turns into dependence...kind of like how you smoke cigs for the buzz then lose it when you're a smoker. Worse yet, it makes your focus that much worse when you're sober. I take adderall about once a month and I seem to be fine. I usually split a 25mg XR in half. I also reccomend XR over IR for non-recreational purposes because it lasts longer and there is almost no crash. I don't notice a crash at all if I take it early enough in the day.

If you're going to be taking Adderall, you probably want to go with the XR's.

The extended release works by releasing half of the pill's contents immediately and then the other half fours hours later.

So it's better to use XR's for serious business and IR's for, well, tweaking the fuck out.

the main difference between your options is dosage. with the pharms you have exact dosage information, with coffee it is what it is. but neither is going to kill you

Amps in extended release form, only because it's a much more efficient stimulant than caffeine.
Beware of addiction and tolerance however, neither will do you any good.

Hm, I disagree. The frantic speed at which your mind races might get you better scores, but during the actual test, that frantic speed makes me feel uncomfortable and nervous. So much so that I'd much rather be normal during the test.

Studying on the other hand, adderall is a god-send.

Well if you really have trouble learning and have health insurance, there is a way to get it prescribed. You probably wont get adderall anymore, you will get something like vyvanse. I didn't lie to the doctor to get mine, I have add/adhd. I heard from friends though they are almost handing out prescriptions, if you go in and say you have trouble concentrating etc.
(im not supporting that you go lie to your doctor!!!)

On the other hand, caffeine is widely available, but it just makes most people very jittery and hyped for a shorter amount of time. You would have to redose on caffeine more then you would on adderall. I haven't used caffeine much, its just in the soda i drink, and some other stuff.

I think adderall/vyvanse(on vyvanse now) will work better then caffiene, but either way your going to get dependent on both of them, after long term use.

They both have their ups and downs. The crashes on both suck, and you wont want to deal with them.

I suggest to find other natural ways to deal with your sleep problems than pills.

Hmmm it makes the test hella easy for me and i finish in like no time. Also i've never gotten less than 94% on a test when im on adderall and i take a test.

And I like to think I'm pretty damn intelligent, so I really have no need for extra concentration during tests. I use it for studying sometimes cause it keeps you productive and awake.
I'm taking multiple AP's right now and doing really well in all of them, so I doubt the whole "I think I have A.D.D." thing would work out too well hahahaha.

get a little exercise right before or after you slam the red bull it will help a lot as well
