Growing Some Mushrooms in the Box

Hey Pacifist thanks for stopping by.

Right now I am in week two and I think I will have some mushrooms starting to grow in about two weeks and ready to pick in three more which will put me at about 5 weeks from inoculation to harvest.

Just takes a little bit of patience and a whole lot of sterilization (at least in the beginning).

I've got a syringe of B+ that I'm planning to innoculate soon. I'm probably going to do PF Tek with 12 1/2pt. jars and then do a casing.

Lysol works just fine for keeping everything sterile. Just spray the air real good, close the door, and let the smell dissapate for a few minutes before going back in. Then just spray some more around your fruit chamber.

It has never failed me, and I've been growing boomers for the better part of 3 years

It's pretty easy I'd say if your friend is up for it go for it, very low start-up costs and there's no smell or ridiculous amount of light to deal with like with cannabis (of course I'd always recommend having your own place when you grow questionable substances that way you're the only one responsible if anything goes wrong). Hope you enjoy the rest of the grow!

Hey everyone,

I checked on my cakes today and I was in for a big surprise. Little baby mushroom sprouts were starting to grow in the cakes. They have since been birthed and are now soaking for 24 hours before I use the dunk and roll method to cover them in vermiculite and put them in the fruiting chamber.

I also got a sample of the mushrooms my buddy grew. I plan on testing them sometime this week. Here's some pics.

So today is day 19 since inoculation and the shrooms have now made their way from spore all the way to the fruiting chamber. I expect to have a flush relatively soon we'll have to see how things go.

The mushrooms I tried last night were pretty different from what I'm used to. The strain was Ecuadorian and was very euphoric with light visuals. I'm not sure if it's a weaker strain than grows here naturally because I ate 5 full mushrooms, which has kicked me into another planet when pulled off of a cow patty, but I was okay with things not getting too nuts. Made music very interesting sort of reminiscent of smoking a lot of good cannabis only I was a little nauseous which usually doesn't happen when I smoke. The peak only lasted a couple of hours, I ate the mushrooms at 8 PM and was asleep by 2 AM

Anyway here's a few shots, I'll probably be updating a little bit more than I have lately because things really start to pick up towards the end of the process, there hasn't been all that much to see so far.

your light doesnt need to be that close, and it may be making it hotter than it should be(maybe throw a gauge in there to see)
but they dont need a bunch of light anyway, so itd be safer to just move it away alittle

anyway, everything else is looking good
prolly see your first pins coming about in 3-5 days
