Prozac+Weed= Not good

My head felt warm, my heart was pounding, i had an adnormal heartbeat or i couldnt feel my heart beat or what...

The entire trip felt "black", it was a panic attack for about 2 hours.

that was yesterday.

I took my prozac this morning and my head still feels a little warm and weird, im drinking lots of water but i dont feel panicky.
I'm scared as fuck to smoke weed again, what happened?

Re: Prozac+Weed= Not good

prozac probably shouldnt be used for recreational effects..

or are you just taking them daily and then ya smoked some herb? cuz if thats the case, THAT SUCKS.. and im sorry for you to not be able to enjoy the full benefit of the herb.

I take 10mg daily.

I just started about 2 weeks ago? I went up to 20mg but i started getting tremors and other bad side effects, the side effects seemed to go away at 10mg but i get derealization and my legs feel weird, my body feels detached from myself.

Yeah i can't enjoy the herb, in fact i don't know if i EVER want to smoke again. That was probably the scariest time i've had.

My head still feels warm and i HATE it, i can't describe the feeling but its just uncomfortable

Re: Prozac+Weed= Not good

God I hate SSRI's. If you ever decide to stop taking them, tell your doctor first. Don't quit cold turkey like I did. Getting off those things and klonopin at the same time hurt more than trying to quit OxyContin. It was seriously the most painful, uncomfortable feeling I've ever had. It's strange how the doctors don't tell you how addictive those anti-depressants are.

Re: Prozac+Weed= Not good

I'm really sorry to hear that bro. SSRI's and antidepressants in general are pretty ineffective and cause more harm than they do good IMHO. Prozac did absolutely nothing for me when I was a teenager except make me cry all the time without knowing why! Scary shit. I would ask your doctor about wellbutrin and other atypical antidepressants. Also see if they can prescribe you a small amount of amphetamines or stimulants (aka adderal, ritalin) because they have been used for that purpose for a long time with good results.

P.S. I hope you feel better dude, just remember no feeling you can ever feel is permanent. Also try not to smoke when your depressed that leads to other drugs/addiction. Just my .02¢

Re: Prozac+Weed= Not good

SSRI's generally take about two weeks to become "active" nurologically.

There are no direct interactions between weed and SSRI's.

This doesnt mean that either the SSRI or pot can produce unpleasent reactions either together, or sperate.
