Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
Can someone please summarize what the fuck I just watched? I watched it completely sober and still have no idea what the point of the movie was. What was that stuff the main character kept sniffing?

Poppers is the street name for it, it comes in bottles now.
The proper term was Alkyl Nitrate, came in a small glass type ball that you "popped" to get at the liquid inside and inhale, it was used to treat angina and such. He doesn't take it for angina.

The first time I saw it I was in the same place as you, thinking "wtf was that?". Read the book, it gets so much more funny and makes more sense after the read.

Read the book(its awesome), watch it high a few times, drop acid and watch it too(totally different movie
 ).

i haven't read the book, but still think the movie is amazing.
i view it as not only describing a vacation, but also as somewhat of a social commentary on las vegas itself |

I think it's actually called Amyl Nitrate, and it's possibly for people with heart murmurs.
