Rant About Racism

I was watching this really stupid show called Black and White. These black woman put on white make up and it makes them look like a genuine white person. Then they go into a predominately white area and ask them about racism. What pisses me off most is how this lady interprets everything this white guy says as racism, but in fact he was being truthful and none of it had anything to do with putting black people down. I think the biggest problem we have is how black people isolate themselves from the white culture. If they didn't think everyone was racist and talk about how different they are treated and just lived the normal american lifestyle, they wouldnt have to deal with racism!

Heres something to think about... if a black person comes up to a white person and says hey you cracker or wigger we would kinda just shrug it off and laugh about it or ignore it... never take it to such drastic measures

But if a white person says *****, ******, or those people, they are racist!

I dont know maybe my opinion is wrong but I just think that black people should stop trying to find every little thing that they claim is racist against them and just live a normal lifestyle. This makes you more acceptable in a society.

**EDIT** Something else that bothers me is how GC will block out the N word but no other slang term towards white people, asians, or any other group. I'm not saying to change everything but just look at how we are living where we are constantly being harrased about being racist from other ethnicities when honestly, most of us could care less about their skin color or differences.

I can see this thread getting interesting...

When you break it down, how ridiculous is racism in the first place? basing your opinion on the color of somones skin is just about the most ignorant thing a person can do.

too many people dont know where the line is between "embracing cultural difference" and being plain racist.


On a bit of a side note: I've noticed the last few times i've gone to 7-11 i've seen some young black youths that really seem to get off on harassing muslims. Yelling things like, "hurry your suicide bombing ass up, towelhead",... at full volume while waiting in line. has anybody noticed any similar behavior?

what the fuck? somone must not have been paying attention in history class very well.

Racism trancends all cultures. Its not just about black and white. But its clear that there is a culture of intolerance that is breeding these days across all distinct lines.

As the saying says, "Not all black are criminals, but all criminals are black". I honestly can say that there is no racism in my area. I have only seen it once or twice in my life and that was when I went to the east coast. Here on the westcoast you can be white, black, red, orange but as long as your chill... everyone gets along with you.

I also think that these black kids joining gangs, participating in drive by shootings, etc. are giving all blacks a bad reputation. Maybe if the parents stopped bitchin about how they are being treated differently and actually take the time to raise their kids correctly, we would have a safer community.

Why is it that hardly any white people are in gangs? I can sure as hell tell you its not because the color of our skin. Its the way we were raised.

we were raised in a racist and sexist society. we have been conditioned to accept racism as a norm. we were one of the only countries to have slaves when we still did. i think it definately had an effect on american culture. i mean look at the media, look at the political system, look at social classes. the countries that are 3rd world are predominately black.

now we are targeting muslums. after sept 11 i remember the local muslum (monestary?) got vandalized because of ignorant americans that are too stupid and lazy to pick up a book and think for themselves. ignorant citizens listen to this trash racist media and play follow the leader.

first it was the irish, then the chinese then the blacks now its the muslums.

i need superpowers then the world would be a better place.

Motoxrider, i can understand how u feel, trully but u are making generalistic coments and are over simplyfying the situation. If u look at society as a whole mayb it wud become more clear for u!! U say that the majority of black ppl are in gangs, isnt the kkk a racist gang!!!

ANyhow gang culture was created firstly as a means of protection. ethnic groups have been targeted for years with violence and persicution, therfore they have joined together in numbers in ordere to feel safe. However over time this has lead to gang mentallity and thus to present time and the 'new' gang culture!!

And in terms of using the N wrd in offence to black ppl, this was used in the times of slavery to demeen this group of ppl, and make them feel as an inferior race. Whereas wigger is simply a wrd to describe a white person who tries to b black, in the sense of copying their culture or watever!!!!

I'm asian (indian) and ive put up with racism all my life, and making such comments as u have done really really pisses me off, as most white ppl will never have to go thru this type of abuse from childhood to adulthood, and if u were constantly being referred to in a rasist manner i doubt u wud shrug it off!!! And with all this terror stuff going on aswell now its 10 times worse, im not even muslin but ive had to face all this abuse, so actually try to put urself in someone elses shoes before u start making general statements!!!!!!!!

I might've agreed with your general message from the first post but right here you go wrong. The reason "black kids" (it's actually mainly latino nowadays) are getting into gangs is because of their environment. The reason fewer white kids are joining gangs is because most of us were raised in middle class neighborhoods that didn't have a lot of gang activity.

The real problem is people mixing up economic status with race. Kids raised in poor neighborhoods are much more likely to join a gang or get into other crime, because they lack the opportunities that middle-high class kids get. It's silly to think that some upper class black kid would join a gang because of how their parents raise them, or because the color of their skin.

That saying is ignorant too, btw.

lol, id just move. or not even be there in the first place. Or beter yet, id act as if i were just like that race instead of COMPLETELY going against the norm just to prove im different. maybe I wouldnt laugh, but id definately shrug it off. certainly making a big deal about isnt going to help.
Yes, we are all created equal! we all have an equal abillity to either create our own problems, or solve them. I for one am white and if there is problem i want fixed, I get off my ass and fix it. you see me standing around complaining about how someone ELSE should do it!

I'm sure its still more popular further south but I would like to note that I live in a BACKWOODS area. Im talkin about billy bob and jim bo type backwoods. And there is basically no KKK activity at all. Some scattered signs mabye 10yrs ago, a flyer on a dumpster perhaps. But none at all now. You will see a lot of rebel flags flying but thats just gernerally because Hank Williams JR. is their idol.

The only tinge of racisim around this crackerville USA is a general consenus that we will beat Osama's ass if he tries to take over a plane we're on or buss or cab ect...

Anybody else think that its funny how some colleges can be called historically black and nobody sells well thats kind of whacky. Everytime I hear somethin like that I laugh my ass off because you know the second a white person went around calling a college a historically white college it would become a racist remark.

The whole racist situation is really a joke. I could care less what ethnicity/religion as long as your a good person. Sometimes you just gotta take life with a grain of salt and laugh off the crazy stuff going on and do your part to not feed into it.

Alright, I'm not going to get into all this because I'll really need the rest of the night and more to duke it out with some people... but to sum it up, check out a movie called CRASH.... seriously, if anyone is into better understanding and adapting to society today it's never better to see it through someone's eyes, especially someone who has a public venue (major movie makers) to voice what they see.... please i would really love to see someone actually take this outside the thread, watch this movie, and bring it back to this thread and see what others have to say about it
