Boiling san pedro

So I was reading about boiling down San Pedro. Do you have to use a blender or can you just chop it up with a knife?

Peal off the skin and scrape the insides off of the skin and the core. The bit in between skin and core is all you want. Put it in a crock pot or pan boil it down adding water when you need for about 30-45 minutes ( the crockpot method takes much longer but you dont have to stand over it or add water). Strain out the rest with some pantyhose or an old t-shirt cool and enjoy.

P.S.it,s gonna be a hella good, long trip.
