Shrooms vs. Acid

I am thinking, at some point, of trying a psychedelic. The two obvious choices for a first time would be either shrooms or acid.

Now, I know it probably would be difficult to explain the different experience between the two ("you have to try it to know"), but if anyone could explain the difference, it would be appreciated.

I've also heard of possibilities of sturring up dormant illnesses in individuals by taking either drug. I personally have anxiety, so would you say there is a good chance that my anxiety could come worse, or a better chance of another illness surfacing?

These are the only questions I can think of now, I may ask some more later.

Shrooms (to me at least) are powerful. They come from nature, we didn't just make them or alter their form, so its more of a raw and real experience, whether you like it or not.

Acid is from a natural thing, but in a different form, some of us are more accustomed to these things considering the world we live in I suppose. It makes you happy and guides you through the whole thing, very non threatening.

Granted, I have not "crossed the line" of either of them, but these are the current feelings I have. I feel better taking acid than mushrooms for some reason.

I've taken mushrooms quite a few times, and aside from the 30-60 minute come on, where you feel clammy and kinda nervous about what's to ensue, even a bit of nausia. It's much better then acid, acid brought out a mental illness in me, so I wouldn't recommend it. Granted I did it about 10 times before I ever noticed something of the sort, but it was the start of a life long dibiliating illness. So think twice before you try either of them.

You should always look into any possibilities of mental illness in your family history before trying ANY drug at all, doing all of your homework is best. Thankfully I know that the only thing my family fights with is addiction, and thankfully I don't have that illness.

my family's got some bad fucking addiction problems for middle class people man

more than 7 people in my close family (like grandparents and uncles none of that 4th cousin garbage) have died while DUI or becuase they got addicted to hard shit and couldn't find a way out so they killed themselves thats why me mom takes drugs other than weed and shrooms so fucking serious

Same here. My grandma, grandpa, mom, dad, uncle, great uncle, and a great grandpa are/have been addicts of some sort. Those are just the ones I know about, though. Mostly alcoholics with the exception of my mom, who I recently found out used to be really into crank too, and my grandma was addicted to damn near everything. I, however, am not a big fan of alcohol.

The only mental illness running through my family was anxiety, which I have been diagnosed with. My grandfather did some coke and such I believe, and I believe he was an addict, but none of the rest of my family has shown any signs of addiction.
