ready for lsd (question)

well i just read the story of the guy who took acid slit his throat and jumped into a minivan at 35mph. and to the question, ive been seeking to try psychedelics for a while, shrooms are rare so im interested in doing acid. and i have always thought that i would just understand its a drug and enjoy the experience but is there a way to know im ready for a lsd trip. it doesnt seem likely to know before experiencing it but i thought it might be worth asking people who have experienced acid.

go to www.erowid.org and start reading a bunch of trip reports. Make sure to read one or two of the train wreck ones too to get an idea of how an acid trip can turn bad.

I know it's not going to be the same for everybody, but for me the bad trips come when I get stubborn and try to fight the trip(I had some suicidal thoughts - luckily they seems completely retarded at the time). If I go with the flow and just let my mind take me where it wants it's been nothing but good vibes.

I would say start off with 1 hit, feel it out, you'll be able to control things more, for me the more LSD I take, the more I loose control over the trip.

the best way to do it:

eat it. and then forget you ate it.

do something else.

if you forget about it, i find a great deal of paranoia is avoided.

lsd is a very powerful drug, you should have a sitter, someone you trust to make sure your alright if shit gets freaky

and if you start to feel like its getting out of control just remember to keep telling yourself that its all in your head and nothing is really happening, then just sit back and enjoy, that shit will blow your mind

My favorite way of starting a psychedelic trip..
My absolute favorite way (keep in mind I've only done mushrooms though),
is to take it then play a video game.

A video game is perfect.
Your mind will be concentrated on the game instead of on paranoia.
And..
Once they start to kick in.
You can tell VERY easily because the game will start to play a lot differently...then the colors start to warp..

well im not completely turned off lsd from reading the story of the guy slitting his throat. but i guess starting with one hit would be better (i was planning on 2). and yea all read up on some trip reports, thanks everyone

i hear it all the time but have a hard time understanding how...(never done lsd)
