confession: attraction to friends' partners

anyone else in the same boat as me?

my friends, they pretty much all have similar interests as me, and also, attract mates who also generally share these similar interests...

intellectual leanings, personality, interests, "spiritual" understanding, etc these kinds of things attract me more than physical attractiveness (as nice as it is).

well, suffice to say,

if you are female, and a girlfriend of one of my friends, then chances are, at least at some duration of time (or several durations), i've found myself romantically drawn to you.

... and admitting this to myself, causes me to wonder... is the same true of everyone else?

I have definitely been attracted to a few of my friends past girlfriends. It can eat you up inside each time you see the two together and know that it should be you. But what you really need to learn is if the feelings are mutual. Sometimes you have to know when to fold your cards and walk away, other times you need to fight for it.

I'm right there with ya as far as being attracted to the same kind of female as my buddies. They tend to go for my friends. I'm just "relationship guy" and most of them aren't ready for that. I've come to terms with the fact that until I'm older, these younger girls are going to keep going for the "edgy asshole" over the nice/safe(r) guy.

And as much as I want to tell them they'd be happier with me, I keep my mouth shut... my friend ends up burning them one way or another and then I'm forced to cut ties... or stay friends and only friends... sucks a bit, but their loss

Occasionaly I find myself in these kinds of situations. But I always remember...bros before hoes. It's not worth it to fuck up a relationship with a life long friend for some girl that might not last. Attraction is one thing, but acting on it is another.
