Nutmeg you say?
I've done nutmeg before, for an extended period of time some years ago. Enjoyable? Not really. Interesting? Yes.
I wouldn't advise actually trying it though. It's terrible for the kidneys, digestive system and probably the liver. I don't know for sure, as I'm not a scientist....... yet.
However, the effects are very unique. I had read about Malcolm X and old blues musicians using it, and decided it might be worth a look since I had no money at the time. It started with eating it straight, a few tablespoons at a time. After learning to control my gag reflex and deal with the taste, I found not much was happening. Seeing as I had a lot of this stuff, I tried new methods. I cooked it in milk- not much again. Tried cooking it into a tea, a bit better, I could feel a slight numbness. Cooking small amounts mixed with soda using a lighter and a spoon- even better! Eventually, I mixed it with Vanilla Coke, but a vast amount. Mixing it into the brew, I found that I needed to break up the chunks or I'd be treated to a cakey clump of nutmeg. After playing with the amounts, I began feeling the full effect.
It was as if my bones were going numb. I couldn't feel much of anything at all, but my kidneys were hurting. My mind felt paused, my mood slightly depressed and most of all, unbelievably lethargic. I couldn't focus because my mind wasn't awake, I couldn't move because everything felt fine. It wasn't very fun at all to tell you the truth, but unique, yes, it was unique. It's as if you become the walking dead, numb to everything with no sense of emotion. Nutmeg creates a void in the soul that is unfillable. It's so strange to describe because it's not like an opiate, it feels like a painkiller, but deeper, and less noticable. You lose your sense of self altogether really, but it isn't a ride or a trip, just 8 hours of pergatory.
