Finally get codeine cough medicine...just one BIG problem!

So, after my recent attempt to kill two birds with one stone and get a prescription for a codeine cough medicine landed me in the hospital, with no codeine i was about to give up. But i came back to the Health Services and my cough still persisted. It really did and i was hoping for another chance.

The doctor checked me out and listened. I was still in bad shape.

So, she told me she would give me a codeine cough medicine. AWESOME! Codeine always helps my coughs and this would be awesome. I could try drank!

Well, i get the little script and notice its Robitussin AC... Now i know Robo contains Guaifenesin. Not a great thing to ingest in higher doses.

So all you knowledgeable GC members out there. With 100mg of Guaifenesin and 10mg of codeine per teaspoon, what are my options here?

Whats a lethal amount of Guaifenesin and is there a syrup extraction i can use? I was thinking of trying the same method as DXM extraction to rid the syrup of that damn Guaifenesin but i dont know.

Thought it would be since i was legit sick.

Problem is i have very bad asthma that gets antagonized with this cough so they want to give me that Guaf to lubricate my airways for a more smooth, less irratating cough.

What exactly did you tell them? I'm pretty fucking sick right now, i'm coughing up green/yellow mucus all the fucking time, and it's hard to sleep @ night. I'm about to head to the on-campus clinic as well, hopefully i'll get a lil somethin somethin.

Edit: The on-campus clinic is a Class D pharmacy, any idea what yours is?

I went to get a cough syrup since ive been self medicating on codeine (30mg twice a day, morning and night) but i wanted syrup.

I have BAD asthma so they freaked when my o2 and pulse were low and super high. I was having trouble breathing.

I go back today and told her

"Listen, im still coughing, cant get to sleep at night and its triggering asthmatic reactions. Cant take albuterol anymore due to pulse and heart rate. I just need to stop coughing and get some rest."

And she gave me it with the guaifinesin... Since its a dry, raspy cough. Just go and tell her you cant sleep because as soon as you lay down, you get a bad cough. I wore a nice collared shirt, no hat and my white nikes to look as casual but innocent as possible. I doubt the really think anythings going on but i dont want to look like some punk going in there and trying to score some narcs.

Dude.... that sucks. my doc gives me mad syrup, once i just told her i had a sore throat. and got a bottle of loratep. when i was really sick and told her my whole body hurt (it did, bad) i got 500ml of 60% hydrocodone syrup..... badassssss

i think its just because she gets to cradle me balls once a year at my physcial

I got Vicodin (5/500) for a sore throat at my campus health center, lol.

um, as far as your body goes,

if you really cared about the shit thats going in it,

why the hell are you taking codeine?

it just dont make sense susan.

codeine is way worse for you then a little extra guafo.

Hey man, I was given the same exact thing for the same exact reasons a few months ago. I knew that too much Guaifenesin was bad for you, but I was unsure about how much exactly that was. Didn't wanna risk it so I only took ~800/80 mixed with Sprite after smoking a bowl. By the end of the bottle I was definitely feeling more fucked up than just a bowl. However, I grew extremely tired by about +2 hours (due to my illness, I don't know) and passed out to a good night's sleep. Woke up in around 7 AM and felt a little nauseous. Ran down the hall (dorm room) to the bathroom and threw up a little. Haha.

I hope that helps. While I admit you may feel a little fucked up, overall I don't think it's worth it.
