This bastard has chewed through the main stock of two of my plants so far. How can I keep him away from the others if he hasn't already gotten them to? The damsge doesn't show up until its too late. These plants just suddenly started wilting and then turned yellow before finally just falling over because the main root was severed. Any body got suggestions on how to defend against this subteraniam invasion?

Poisen Peanuts ? Never heard of the stuff. Is it the same as the poisen gofer pellits? Which were inneffective simply because the gofer just pushed em out of the hole when he filled it in. I was thinking about getting a gofer snake because I heard they're free from pet smart. Any thoughts on that idea? I need an immediate remedy.

Plant garlic around. They hate it. I did it last year and have not seen them since.

Sounds like a good idea sarge. Are you talking about just breaking up a clove and planting it like that or actually buying some garlic seeds and growing the garlic plants? I'd think the former would work faster than the latter. Please clear this up for me if you can. I've got plenty of cloves but wouldn't know where to get seeds. Or can I maybe get some Garlic clones? LOL just fuckin whitcha. Serious about the cloves or seeds question though.
Thanks

Just throw some cloves of it out there and it will grow. Ever seen when u keep garlic for to long and it get a green root coming out the top. It's trying to grow. I just threw some out there and water and it will come back every year and no more moles or gophers

Thats all there is to it? What a great country!! I'm gonna be a garlic farmer from now on. Seems a hell of a lot easier and way less problems than growing Da Kind.. Oh, but will the garlic make me feel silly and give me the munchies? Maybe I'll be a half-n-half farmer instead. Half for some of me and half for the rest of me. That way none of me gets left out. What a great country, its good to be me again.
Thanks sarge, you da man!!

.22 and hollow points. I heard somewhere that bullets are faster than waiting for garlic to sprout by just a hair hahaha. No offense, just saying.

Sure you can.

Every time you see a gopher in the garden just plink it off......eventually there will be none left!

I never seen one while I had them. I would just find the evidence that they were there. I tried it all. Nothing worked. Threw a few cloves of garlic out and never had a problem since

I've been growing garlic this year and haven't noticed any gophers. Interesting. I agree with your point that I rarely ever have seen one. Just the mounds from them.

I hope you like standing around holding your wood because that's about all you'd accomplish with that method. ;)

Hold the PHONE!! The garlic has to sprout before it begins working? This changes everything. I don't have that kind of time, I need immediate results like immediately! Garlic needing to sprout first would have been a vital piece of information to have a couple hours ago. Before I commenced to distribute cloves throughout my garden. Man, I hope the cloves alone will hinder his progress. Now if this is a frigging Italian gofer I'm totally screwed because I seasoned his entire cafeteria with bits n pieces. Now I wish I would have used lead instead. Damn it!!!
