Wharfrat 09 outdoors

Ok so its been almost 14 years since I have done any MJ gardening outdoors.

And that was in a desert.. I am now on the Ore Coast... so We'll see.

Strain; Super Skunk ( couple extra clones I decided to use outdoors rather then toss away now that I am under MMJ protection...kinda a celebration if you will )
Medium: Container, Soil
Nutes: as little as possible, and then GH from my hydro supplies ( although they did get a 1/4 strength of Peter's Pro 20/20/20 at Xplant).

Now dont expect a BF74 kinda "daily updater" here.... but hopefully a weekly update will be kept ( I am terrible at keeping grow logs so I am hoping peer pressure here will do the trick)

Ok now before I start this one ..how about some pics of whats inside... I have a busted flash on my cheap ass camera..so I get to bring em outside for pics..but its rezzy changing day so thats cool

pics 1&2 are of my homemade EnF , holds four, 1 gallon pots. will be upgrading and making a second that holds 6 pots each after this one and the mom below harvest out.

pic 3 is a mother at 3 weeks flower ion a homemade waterfarm with a couple airstones inside.

4-6 are of individual plants from the EnF... number 5 is a "from soil" transplant..the top 1-2 inches is all soil..then about 2 inches of perlite, then hydroton the rest of the way down..having some overwatering issues ..but they are not killers..so its is a success in my book.

and well the last pic should be self explanatory.. I needed a break...and a lighter...

Now on with the show......

Re: Wharfrat 09 outdoors

here it is, actually I am using the K.I.S.S. rule for this one ...soil ...pots ... and clones... and water when needed...not gonna worry about pH or any of that crap ..if they make it cool ..if they don't ..well indoors still has Me covered

Soil... Whitney Farms potting soil, bought at the local "Freddys" 2 yrd bags for 9 bucks... all organic... good stuff.. really good stuff IMHO

Containers.... 18 gallon tubs.. again 9 bucks each at the local "Freddys"... drilled out 1/2 inch holes around the bottom... 12 holes per tub.... it this isn't enough I figure I'll just lean em over on thier side and take a few wacks with a hatchet at the bottom of the tubs.. no reuse that way ...but only 9 bucks each ..

Nutes..what they get from the soil....and maybe "some" feeding if they show a major need.

Pics

1. the goods
2. turning tubs into pots with a little drainage..
3. All set to go out.. (actually this one went out B4 the pic...but brought it back for the pic...(yup found that lighter... and the memory went to shit ..lol )
4. the first one to go out yesterday .. decided to wait on this one to start the journal.
5. and in its new home
6. a view from the deck off my room ..can you spot em ?( the hose should be a give away)

well thats it for today.

PS sorry about the size of the pics in my first post.. will try to get around to resizing em later.

Re: Wharfrat 09 outdoors

lol nothing to really show..not much change in the first week or two..but heres last Fridays pics anyways .. want to update on fridays ...so if wether permits I will get a couple more pics today or tomorrow morning to upload.

some yellowing from the old soil in the 1 gallon pots ..most of that has cleared in the last week, and getting to learn how to work with nature again ... haha watered last week and the next day ...rain... yesterday decided to hold back a day ...and it rained last night ....so the learning curve continues.

other then that .. deer seem to be held at bay by the chicken wire.had about 10-12 bed down three nights ago all around my plants ... but all good in the morning , and had something using the girls as a buffet line.. a spraying of sesame oil and light neem seems to of made em find another place to eat.

peace

PS will try yo update tomorrow cause the girls are now getting into stride after the tranplant and Me using recyled soil to begin ( which caused the yellowing in the one plant. ) with.

Re: Wharfrat 09 outdoors

Hi Bf..welcome.

looks like they have shaken off the effects of the old soil and the transplant

have been watchin em ( obviously ) and decied they were getting too much shade late in the day .. if you look in the "porch" pic you can see where I relocated em to. those trees were just tall enough to start to block the sun at about 6 PM for plant A, and about 45 minutes later for plant B. Did this two days ago ... after a rain .. my arms were tired after..but I am damn sure it was totally worth it ..and better now then when they have a few feet on em ..

LOL I might eat my words on indoor covering me .. I had to harvest the Mom and the EnF that were in flower ...got hot and living on the coast the humidity got me, witha case of bud rot... dehumidifier got here yesterday, so keeping my fingers crossed, I wont have to rebuild my vent. but hey thats indoors and this is supposed to be outdoors.

at any rate the pics should speak for themselves. am hoping that the HST of thier first month alive will pay off now that they are unbound, and free of my supercropping fingers. and BTW that grass is about 4 feet high out there.

peace

Re: Wharfrat 09 outdoors

Hey Wharf, just had a peek at your girls. I must say, they're looking quite happy. It seems you and i share a common enemy in deer. They like to bed down in my corn patch and the winter wheat. No MMJ here , so no outdoor for me. But i still like to watch.

Re: Wharfrat 09 outdoors

Hi Ricard0, and thanks.

lol batteries are dead for the cam. so no pics today ..but about all that has changed is they have gotten bigger. Big enough, that those chicken wire cages are not feasable anymore, so they are gone....hope the deer are too, or untill November, late October.

ohh yeah, starting to show signs of bloom ...So I figure..maybe... in 3-4 weeks to be showing enough that I can get an idea of yeild.. cause I am actually kinda lost right now .. my stems never get this thick indoors ( must need bigger fans ) unless they are the nodes from supercropping.... so they gotta have a kick ass circulatory system to get the buds uber fat. ( or at least thats what my ass is hoping)

peace

Re: Wharfrat 09 outdoors

well here they are... not much to report ..the coastal weather is making watering a cinch.

I have roots pushing out of the bottoms already ... so bigger pots next year.

had to "top" one of the branches on A plant ..it had curled up ..and had some sort of bug eggs inside...all other tops look fine on both plants. did an immediate check of all branches ..and a fresh shot of neem...

hey, anyone know how much neem is too much? like as in can you apply too often , trying to not apply more then every other week....but B plant is taking a bit of a beating ...might try moving it away from the blackberries, but it is such a good stealthy, sunny postion I hesitaite to do so .

LOL they are doing so well it is hard to keep in mind that these are just secondary to my indoor..So indoor may come outdoor for a few months of the year from now on.... just think I will put out vegged clones in early-mid June ( i think the coastal storms will pull em apart if i set out any sooner) that are already 1-2 feet tall..but I'm stoned and rambling..so on with the pics

1-2 Plant A
3-4 Plant B

peace and thanks for reading
