Re: CB's College Outdoor Grow 09

A little package came in the mail today
CB isn't going easy on his babies this year. (Oh and one Hollands Hope baby sprouted today.)

It is partially shaded by a tree, the only people that could see it would be from about 200 yards away. To take care of this i will be growing blue bedder salvia. A gorgeous plant that will be fun to grow. To those thinking "SALVIA?!?!? " no. This is not salvia divinorium that makes you trip when smoked. I just like growing nice flowers to cover my crop.

Man you've got yourself together CB. About the bat guano (I'm looking for some) , the flowering one has very little K. I suppose you'll add the seaweed and some molasses to give it more K? What's the "Vitamins" bottle? Very nice too!

Its about time I start my first grow of '09. I know, some of you are saying "what the hell, you're one crazy SOB starting a grow in the middle of January!" but i have my reasons. I plan on harvesting in time for our favorite holiday- 420.
The seeds I have germed and started are 2 Safari Mix, 2 Hollands Hope, and 1 Romulan. My buddy told me he has 10 THC-Bomb seeds to donate. I will start those in about a month.
To those critics (cantharis), I have purchased a mini greenhouse to keep the potential night frost out and to keep temperatures up during the day. Temps around here have been about 55-65 during the day and around 40 at night. I will be going all organic, using Fox Farms Ocean Forest as my soil and for feedings i will use homemade teas with Mexican bat guano, Peruvian sea bird guano, Earth Worm Castings, seaweed extract, and fish emulsion.

To start, I used OP's banana peel method to increase my female chances (first pic).
The next picture is of my mini-greenhouse not yet at my plot.
The third is my pot with the seeds germinating inside (going to separate them at the plot).
The fourth is the seaweed extract i picked up today.
im doing the same thing...i get all my nutes tomorrow from planet natural... i made my tent..we're definitly have to exchange recipes... i have everything you have except the fish emulsion....im in sonoma county.... i still get a little frost but i got a outside green house i put my sweetooth clone when its sleepy time..... shes taking it well but shes a little stressed but she is fine

Yes, molasses and kelp will be my main source of K. I will probably have to go shopping for some, but i think molasses' 5% is enough if i feed with it almost every watering. The bottle is Vitamin B1. On the bottle it says "Plants thrive superbly with this hormone supplement to your regular nutrient program. Vitamin B1 for growth, especially under low light conditions of winter and Naphthaleneactic Acid for root stimulation. Counteracts transplant shock. "
This is perfect for me because I will be growing with little light- in the middle of winter.

Thats great you're doing what I am, sonoma has similar weather to where I live (central valley). Luckily we havent had a frost in about 2 weeks and the temps are in the mid to upper 60s. I think after these plants are harvested I will put out a few clones straight in the ground because it will be hot enough to support them.

As for my recipe, I will be using this mix:
Seedlings less than 1 month old nutrient tea mix
5 gallons of water
5 TBS. Black Strap Molasses
1-cup earthworm castings
1 tsp Mycorrhizae Fungi
every 3rd watering

Veg Mix
5 gallons of water
1/3 cup Peruvian Seabird Guano (PSG)
1/3 cup High N Bat Guano (Mexican)
1/3 cup Earth Worm Castings (EWC)
5 TBS. 1-0-4 cold water kelp extract
5 TBS. Black Strap Molasses
1 tsp Mycorrhizae Fungi
@ 1-cup mix every 3rd watering

Update

Update:
Put out the greenhouse at my guerrilla location. Filled the inside with pebbles to keep it warm through the night. I started the baby salvia seeds in a peat pot. The actual cannabis seedlings are under a 24/0 light and will be moved out in 2 days.

Oh and the last picture is the beautiful sunset
If you stick with this journal you're sure as hell going to see some creative photography.

Re: CB's College Outdoor Grow 09

CB, you've already gone above and beyond what you did last year in terms of preparation--and we all know planning and preparation are the keys to success in all things. I like the way you're approaching this so far. Plus rep.

And let me be the first to remind all your subscribers (as I no doubt will do numerous times this season) that at the end of last season CB said he wouldn't grow again. We were all looking at his shots of sweet, dried nuggets and shaking our heads knowingly. Growing is more addicting than crack. Think how funny your short lived retirement will be when you're sitting on a couple of Pounds at the end of the season.

But did you say you intend to harvest in April? No, lemme check this out...

Re: CB's College Outdoor Grow 09

Yup, that's what you said. I'm interested. I helped out with a similar grow in Santa Cruz when I was in college (the first time). Yield was terrible but the smoke was sure sweet. Hope you have a regular season grow planned as well.

Re: CB's College Outdoor Grow 09

thank you dankohzee, its ridiculously addicting. i couldnt even wait for the spring season!!!

im expecting a crap yield but that doesnt matter to me...i just want to grow some of my own to tide me over until october. this is also kind of a seed run for feminized seeds. i want to have about 200 just lying around for any time i want to johnny-appleseed them or give to friends.

as for my regualr season i will be getting 10 clones from the club (i dont know which strains) for my guerrilla plot. i have rigged up a 55 gal auto-watering device so that i have to refill every 2 weeks or so compared to hiking in every 3 days last summer. Also, i will be planting in soil, 60 gallon holes= monsters. The list of improvements goes on...I will be using lots of organic teas for feeding rather than just fish emulsion (guano, kelp, superthrive etc.).
