I paid about €1 a root for mine.

Well for those who may be interested, here is a link to a company that sells cheap 25 gallon blow molded containers. They're $56 for like 8 of them. I'm still shopping though. I'd like to get something deeper if I can.

Here's the link:http://www.growersupply.com/25gablmo6co.html

I think they know i'm Buddhist and have undertaken the practice of non-harming. During hunting season (now) my property is a deer zoo. Of course, even during the grow season it's a veritable Bambi freeway. They never eat my herb though. There are too many cornfields around, I guess. Sometimes, thoughm they trample right through my patch, so I usually fence my crop for the first 4 weeks.

Re: Dankohzee's '09 (Cantharsis Style) Organic Swamp Grow

Where I live the deer have become very destructive. The cycle of nature has been disrupted and there are no predators to keep deer in check. They have eaten most of the forest understory away and as a result birds who migrate through are not getting to feed on plants/seeds that formerly grew here. The loss of these plants has allowed invasive specie's to flourish.

Dankozee, have you read the Diamond Sutra?

They look neat. I want to get one mega sized pot (for record breaking purposes) - even bigger than those.

You must live in an area that is closed to hunting I am a hunter and i am agianst releasing wolves to destroy our wildlife ( i am of course assuming you are talking about wolves, and we all know what happens when youe assume). I just hope they allow more hunting in your area to control the deer population

I found some 45 gallon blow molded pots that would be good for that purpose. But i'm still looking for a suitable pot for this grow. I think I want something that's at least 24 inches high and 25 gallon capacity. I have a nursery a mile down the road that sells peat and mushroom compost and lava rock by the truck-load. I have a small barn where I can dump my ingredients in one end, mix, and then drive in and scoop it up from the other end, so large scale soil mixing won't be a problem. The pots are turning out to be a challenge, though.

So I think I'll enlist the help of the City. If anyone can find blow molded (because these tend to be cheapest) containers that are at least 24 inches high and have a volume of at 25 gallons or so, please post the link here. Thanks.

are you looking for pots/containers that have no bottom opening for drainage?

Re: Dankohzee's '09 (Cantharsis Style) Organic Swamp Grow

Actually, I just found out the the world leader in blow molded containers has a facility less than 30 miles from me! I've decided to go with a 45 gallon container that is 20 inches high and 30 inches across the top. They're expensive:$100.00 for a five pack. But I figure I'll buy them a pack at a time throughout the winter to ease the pinch.

Now I know this is probably overkill Cantharis, but that's just how the American ego works! I would rather overdo it than wish I had gone with a bigger container.

I don't know if I've mentioned this, but this will be my last outdoor grow for the next couple of years, so I'm really banking on a good yield. In the spring of '10 I will be flying to Amsterdam for a couple of weeks, followed by a year of teaching English in Thailand. After that I'll be living in Reno Nevada while I complete an advanced degree at UN Reno. An outdoor crop in the Reno area just isn't going to happen. The good thing is Nevada now has medical marijuana, so hopefully I can become a provider for someone and grow indoor, stress free.
