With your green thumb and what I know first hand of those seeds in the gold disk and what with growing in that spot, this will be a magnificent grow. You'll have to whip up a good soil mix. I've had good luck with a base mix of Promix BX fortified with worm castings

yeah man i agree.. grapefruit is one of my favs, and really hard to come by it seems. I grew out some Grapefruit x Blueberry from chimera/DJ Short which from what i understand is really similar to the sweet tooth... you wont be disappointed at all.

I'm curious to see the outdoor haze... you seem to have that plan figured out..

again, best of luck man.

Ksimms! Where the hell have you been? How did last year's crop turn out? Man I was worried about you for a while until I saw that you had been popping into that other forum on occasion. Those were some early beauties you had. I'd love to see some pics from later in the season.

Yeah i've read about that on your thread. Where the heck does one get worm castings? I think I remember that you (grow?) them yourself, right?

Anyway, since I have taken the liberty of slapping Cantharsis' name on my thread, I think I have an obligation to replicate his techniques as closely as possible. As the season gets closer i'll see if I can't get Cantharsis to post a shopping list on this thread with ingredients and proportions for his soil mix. That way anyone who is considering this sort of grow can just follow this thread and replicate. I'm going to try to post each step far enough in advance so that anyone looking on will have time to get on the same page.

I really like the fact that I will be growing a strain that someone I know (sort of) has grown--and by the same breeder too. It will be nice knowing approximately when they'll show sex and when they will finish. The breeder info is never right, it seems. So don't go away Pork. I'm gonna need you.

I got this Grapefruit in knoxville Tennessee once that was some of the best herb I have ever had the privilege of smoking. The trichs were absolutely huge. It was perfectly grown and had to have been handled with kid gloves beccause the trichs stuck out so far from the plant matter that they would have come off with a slight bump, it seemed. Unfortunately it was one of those situations where some dude stopped by a party I was at to sell a few bags. I didn't know him and nobody else did either except the guy who brought him. I almost never carry cash on me, so I was unable to pick up a sack

So listen up Knoxville kids! If you have alocal grapefruit grower that knows somebody that knows my buddy Travis that used to work at the Fireworks Supermarket, west of the city, tell him to hit me up so I can virtually shake his hand. (Somehow I think that may have been a long shot)

Around here, both Walmart and Southern States sell worm castings or you can get them online...here's a place http://wormlady.com/?page_id=14
I got the worms for my bin there too. In worm castings, the nitrogen and other nutes are in a form that is easily absorbed and used by the plant, naturally and organically. The WW loves this stuff as well as fish emulsion. Glad you are going organic, because I hear that it is easy to over nute the WW if one is using chemical ferts, especially when growing in containers.

What you say about the breeder info is true. Reading the specs on the GHS WW (12% THC) leaves one to question, Is this strain really THE killer strain from days of old? Well I'll tell you here and now that YES IT IS THAT SAME STRAIN and yes it grows VERY WELL outdoors! You made the right choice bro.

Fish emulsion is my second favorite stinky thing Mr Stinky (and no, you're not the first). I can't really use it outdoor though. It attracts too many critters.

Dankozhee,

Look for Coop Poop (4-2-2). It is 100% organic chicken shit and OMRI listed. 50 lbs of Coop Poop costs only $20. I would also look around for some organic kelp meal; it also is cheap --20 lbs for about $25.

The Coop Poop is such a steal. I don't know why I haven't heard of other growers on the City using it.

Sounds like some good stuff. Is that what you use?

Yes sir. I am currently using it for an indoor plant right now, but I intend on using it for my 12 plant outdoor grow next spring.

Thanks for the info Pork. And I don't doubt your assessment of the Widow in the least. There's a reason why the stuff has become legendary so quickly.

Hey dankohzee, if you are emulating my organic style, I trust that you have the Russian comfrey roots ordered. A comfrey bed is essential, IMHO.
