Ok guys, so this is gonna be my first log. I've got an outdoor greenhouse set up. Custom built frame from 2x2" wood, painted white. Wrapped in in woven poly. Last year I grew 6 purple dream plants and they turned out beautiful. Unfortunately I didn't get them started until Independence Day so they didn't get as big as I was hoping... below are some pics of last years grow. Harvested in November. Ran into an issue with bud worms, but overall the crop was perfect. The THC content on those babies was ridiculous, even the trim turned out some amazing edibles. On to this year... This year I've got two God's Gift plants I am growing from clone. In addition, I've got 3 plants coming from seed. One is white widow, one is lemon kush, and the last is either white widow or cheese (I think it's cheese). Below are some pics, and I'll update throughout the grow.

As you can see, I noticed the leaves got much darker and it appeared that portion of nug was dying. Upon examination I came across bud worms, my first experience with them.

Hey guys. Recently became a member. I'm an experienced grower, currently on my second grow. Last harvest came out amazing. I'd love to post pics and stuff of the progress of the new grow, but I have a few concerns. I apologize if this isn't the correct thread, I'm new to this site. I guess my concern is, although my grow is completely legal, what do people do to prevent themselves from being tracked down on this site by law enforcement. Like I said, my grow is legal, but I don't think anyone likes getting a knock at their door from authorities. I guess my question is have people from this site been tracked down by their IP addresses? What do people do to prevent this? On a side note: last year I harvested six outdoor purple dream plants and this season I've got two god's gift's, one white widow, one either white widow or cheese, and one lemon kush. I'd love to post pics and such, but I'm a little cautious.

If they did get tracked down I doubt they would be able to respond to your question, lol. Probably would be locked up. But really, I haven't heard of anyone getting tracked down on here. The Internet is such an unreliable source of people posting bullshit all day, the feds would have a hell of a time chasing down false leads. I've posted here for two years without any problems. Just make sure the location is turned off on your smart phone if you post from one and don't give out too much personal info or post any pics that could identify where you live...like buildings and landmarks etc.

I'm going to save you some jabs there bro. Spend just a few minutes getting yourself familiar with the forums. The information you seek is readily available, and in abundance. This particular forum is for outdoor growing journals.

I promise that I am not trying to be a tool. However, folks are pretty busy this time of the year getting their outdoor grows started and wading through loads of new posts asking basic questions only clutters and devalues the purpose of this particular forum.

Here are a few helpful links that can be found right on the main page for the forums.

Get some Spinosad and mix it up 2x strength. The worms come from the moths and butterflies. Spinosad is not poison and at 2x strength even gets the mites. Great for fleas flies moths worms mosquitos knats. I use it for most everything.

Damn bud worms. They hit everyone hard last year it seemed. I'm trying to stay on top if things this year with BT and neem in veg and some bug zappers to kill them before they ever find my plants. Fingers crossed....

I use neem during veg, and it worked great but once I was into flower obviously it can't be used. I have not used Spinosad before, does it effect the quality of nug? I'm assuming if I do try it it shouldn't be too close to harvest

haha I love my gnomes, I didn't even realize I got them in the pic until after I saw them. The cups are awesome, they originally contained the clones then I recycled them and used them for seedlings, they're fantastic

:wave:I use it all the time except within the last 4 to 6 weeks of harvest because the buds are stacking and I don't like them wet. They say it breaks down in 2 days. This will be my 3rd year and I am extremely happy having been in Horticulture for 30 years I can honestly say I've never had a better insect control. For the pets or the plants. I was cautious the first year and did quite a lot of experimenting with it.:P:D
They feed it to dogs to get the fleas to drop off them. Very effective flea prevention. It's safe and no smell. But I don't necessarily spray the plants all the time. I find I have more control of the bugs if I spray the plants often and early and keep a strong barrier around the plants. By the time they flower they should be totally clean, with a good barrier around them that is maintained around the perimeter of the grow. I constantly spray around the grow. In my GH I spray the wall and floor and doorways my pants mist over my head before I go in and things like that. On my outdoor grows I have fought all of the battles and the next year it would be the same all over again. When I got this stuff I won the war. :metal:
I treat the areas where my holes are and treat the plant well when it goes in and keep the area spray misted every check on the plants. I also add the Ivermectin horse paste to get at the ants who farm many bugs and I hate spiders:eek: and the ticks are related to spiders :devious:
so I use the Ivermectin Horse Past wormer for spiders, ticks and ants and the Spinosad for everything else. I only spray Ivermectin on the plants during veg and if I need to I will use it a couple of weeks into flower, but always continue around the perimeter w/it when they flower.
Spinosad
16oz bottle makes 4 gallons. Mix 4 oz per gal and add 1/2 tube of horse paste per gal. Shake well make sure it is mixed cause the Ivermectin is oily.
Ivermectin paste (not the inject-able, which is not water soluble)can be purchased @ Tractor supply for 4$ but it is also at Walmart for about 8 or9 $. Any brand but I get the apple so the spray has smell and I can recognize what is in the bottle. These bacterias do not have odor. The Spinosad has a dirt smell but when mixed it has none.
You can look on my thread to see if you think they are affected or not. Like I said I have the bug thing licked by the time they go to flower and I'm a gal who has fought spider mites on 10ft plants with a paint brush and a cup of water. I never use poison on my plants.
I don't recommend this stuff lightly. I'm not trying to impress anyone only to be helpful.:o
good luck:wave:

Wow, thanks so much fayn2madness. Glad to see there indeed are some friendly people on here. I wasn't experienced with budworms last season so I ended up just inspecting them every morning and killing with tweasers/scissors anything I found. This was really helpful, I wasn't sure of any safe stuff for flowering :D:wave:

On a side note: people need to stop losing their minds over a simple comment on here. If I post "Hey, love the plants. These are mine" and link it to my grow, it's because I admire your set-up. IDK why people think that comment is worthy of reporting, but oh well. Get a life, I'm not trying to "spam" anyone, some "community".

I'm sure no one would've said anything had it been on 1 or 2 threads, but when someone goes to every thread and basically repeats themselves with a link to their grow, some ppl might consider that spam. I realize you're trying to attract attention to your thread, but there are other ways of doing it. Just keep udating your journal and you will start to attract more ppl -- if that's your intention.

You're right, it wasn't 1 or 2, it was about 12 or so. Why? Because I've been on here 4 days, and last night was the only time I'll have for a while to admire other people's grows. Unlike some people who like to sit on here and bash other people for every little innocent comment they make, I was trying to be friendly. I didn't break any rules of grasscity by doing this, and no one was forced to unwillingly click on the link. But to appease everyone, I will simply include the link in my profile so the next time I say "Love the California weather, proved to me outdoor is the best way to go" no one jumps down my throat.

I get you bro, and I agree with you for sure. Pretty much anywhere you go there will always be ppl who disagree with you, or don't see things the same way, but that doesn't mean 'everyone' is like that. If you include the link to your grow in your signature -- you wouldn't have to post it seperately :) Happy growing!!

I appreciate it, happy grow to you too :) Anyways, pics are updated as of now. I included them in the original post by editing, thought it would make it easier in the future than having to scroll through comments to see the weekly updates. After topping the clones they're really starting to full out nicely. White widow seedlings are charging, and my lemon kush seed just broke ground as of this afternoon. Looking forward to the rest of the season, happy grows everyone!

I've been using a light bulb on an extension chord at night to keep my plants in veg. Right now it is just a regular light bulb. Works for keeping them in veg, but I doubt it's producing any growth. Does anyone know of a type of bulb that will fit in a regular light socket that will help not only keep the plants in veg, but have the right spectrum to keep the plants growing those extra few hours at night?
